2 unrelated questions; Roof Rails and Seats

Can the factory roof rails be fitted to a Clubman that was delivered without them? If they can, what is the procedure? Would like a rack, but find the Mini aftermarket unit a bit ugly.

I have leatherette interior. Will any last generation Mini seats (front and rear) fit? Would like to change to a leather set if I can find one at reasonable prices.

From what has been said here, roof rails are a factory install item due to air bags, etc in headliner. Not sure on the seats..

You can re cover the seats in leather. do a search for these type of covers.
Here is one I found that does some really cool stuff. when you do a search, the MINI is under the BMW section. Most of these kit are Easy to install.

Roof Rails Are still Factory Only due to the amount of work it would take to install them. You are looking at about 16 hours worth of labor to remove the entire head liner, remove both side curtain airbags, remove sunroof it there is one, drill the roof, install rails and then reinstall all the aforementioned parts. And then pray that the air bags have not caused a fault anywhere in the system. One little mix up and the entire job has to be started from scratch again.
