Hi Mat J Monk

As you already know, Corgi's are really well behaved and smart. I don't think you will have any problems with them riding in your convertible.

My Corgi loves riding in my car to the extent of this:

I'm sure your friends will just be like my Mario and want to relax and enjoy the ride! I'm sure they will be happy just riding in the back seat and never try to jump out.Especially if they see a cat.

Seriously, I would leave the top up when they are in the car. You can never be too safe.

When you do get some Pictures of them in the Vert please share with us.

Well, the problem remains that my little girl doesn't like cars in the least and won't go in one unless forced and as you know, Corgi's are quite strong and willful when it comes to doing what they dont want to do!

I've tried to get the middle son to sit still in SJ so I can get a pic, but with his short attention span, as soon as the wind blows, he's out and running at some foe only he can detect!

Thats really to bad

My Mario would go riding forever. I take him on my vacations and as soon as he see's me pull out a suitcase he starts with his Corgi noises. I'm sure you know what I mean.

If you know of another dog he is friendly with that likes car rides you can probably get your Corgi to get into the car with the other dog. Just take it slow until he sees that it is a good thing.

When I take Mario to the Vet's office he don't mind going because when we are done I take him to the Pet Store to walk around. A lot of dogs don't like car rides because they think they are going to the Vet's office. My friend Shari has a dog that hated to go to the vet's so when we take him I also take Mario and my Mario keeps reesie calmed down. He don't mind going if his friend Mario is going too. We also go to the pet store or park when done so now Reesie will go willingly and not try to escape the car.

I'm sure happy my Mario likes car rides because I don't know how I would enjoy a vacation without him. Of course it takes me twice as long to get somewhere because he likes to stop at every rest area he sees. He actually recognizes the rest area signs and when he sees one he sure lets me know

I'm sure you will get your Corgi to like car rides. They are very smart and adapt very fast if you just show them what you want them to do..

Dog arrangement for the Clubman

So my daily arrangement of the Clubman is-
One rear seat is up for the occasional passenger, that's the one by the club door. The other seat is almost always down flat, and there lies Petunia's doggie bed. I open the barn door, pop her in, and she navigates from the bed right behind me.
I used to have two Bostons and both seats down flat ( see page 1 of this thread), but Gromit has left us and with just one dog, the split seat arrangement is perfect. I think it's the best dog car I can imagine.
Bostons look like MINIs too, short, wide, low, with big eyes.

Dogs in a Clubman

Jakes,
Both of my dogs are about 90 lbs. each now. Haven't had both rear seats up yet. We have had them in the Clubman with one of the seats up for a 5 hour road trip. No one complained, and no one's space was crowded. I take that back: there were some "comments" exchanged with a Great Dane in a passing truck.

It's a bit of a thread revival, but worthwhile! My wife and I have two corgis and do road trios with them, so one concern is if there will be room for them and our stuff, so this thread was fun to go through

Dogs in Clubman Update

I haven't revisited this forum in about five years until today. I just saw that my former photos of my Boston Petunia had vanished, so new uploads from those days are now edited in. Since those one-dog years we have added Penny Pi, a dachshund puppy mill rescue. they love each other and they love rides in the Mini! Since I'm now retired, they get about ten road trips per week, year round.
Here's a typical view or two :-)
