ALTA Performance Project Mr. Belvedere R55 JCW Clubman
Hello NAM Members,
Just wanted to make a brief introduction to my latest project MINI. Meet Mr. Belvedere!
Maintaining the British standard for understated luxury and performance he comes with few optional extras, but a dazzling metallic paint color. Instead of criticizing his XL plus sized stature, I am choosing to embrace the opportunity to accentuate the larger physique.
This 2009 JCW Clubman is ready for some healthy modding courtesy of ALTA!
To begin with he came equipped as follows:
2009 MINI John Cooper Works Clubman $30800.00
Sparkling Silver Metallic Paint $500.00
Carbon Black Checkered Cloth Included
Foglamps Included
Destination Charge $650.00
Total MSRP $31950.00
Many of you will note from previous and current project cars, that Mr. Belvedere doesn’t fit the “mold”. Most of the cars have been built with just performance in mind. This one will be a bit different. The JCW has plenty of spunk, but I still want to add a bit more, the goal for the car is more of a ground hugging semi-luxury Clubman. Somewhat like the VIP Japanese Style that is so popular there.
Here is what is in store so far:
EXTERIOR:
JCW Cooper Front Bumper
JCW Cooper Front Brake Cooling Ducts
Front and Rear Mud flaps
TBD Custom Painted Exterior Accents
Tinted Glass ( was done prior to the photos attached ) Limo film on rear windows to give it a painted look.
Carbon or Challenge Style Front Splitter (leaning toward the Challenge one if I can find one)
18” Privat Netz Gloss Black Wheels
H&R Wheel Spacers
ALTA Antenna Mast
SUSPENSION:
H&R RSS Coilovers
ALTA Rear 22mm SwayBar
ALTA Front and Rear Endlinks
ALTA Positive Steering Response System
ALTA Rear Control Arms
ALTA Front Strut Brace
PERFORMANCE:
ALTA Intake System
ALTA JCW Downpipe
ALTA Clubman Polished Exhaust
ALTA Inlet Hose
ALTA Blow Off Valve
ALTA Front Mount Intercooler
ALTA JCW ECU Tune
INTERIOR:
ALTA Boost, Water Temp and AFR Gauges
ALTA Short Shifter
Upgraded Audio System (take advantage of the trunk area!)
JCW Euro or Recaro SRD Seats haven’t decided
More to come of course!
I will keep updating this thread along with the DIY Page as we move through the project. Personally, I am 100% open to suggestions or ideas for the project. If there is something you considered doing to your car and want to see done first, let me know and maybe I can do it first so it is easier for you to decide.
As always I am happy to help anyone in anyway I can! Thanks in advance for your interest in the project!

Will certainly try! Keep in mind this one is the JCW version so sounds a bit different than the Clubman S. I am trying to scrounge up an OEM Clubman S Downpipe to put on with the ALTA Cat-Back to make it as accurate as possible for folks. Also going to do the ALTA JCW Clubman Turbo-Back (DP + CAT-BACK)
More to come!
Check out the pics below! Last night was a BIG change!

Thanks for asking. We will be doing fresh Clubman JCW dyno runs and starting there. There is enough difference to the exhaust plumbing vs. the JCW Hardtop to warrant doing them.
NOT the track wagon! Just clean, LOW and loud!

THANK YOU! More to come!
215/35/18 Ride well and in my opinion look really well and balanced on the car. Slightly lower than the original wheel / tire overall height.
