2 Questions: Lead Time and New Model Year

1) What is the current lead time for ordering a Clubman S?

2) When this summer/fall will an order result in the next model year (2010) being delivered?

Thanks

bump for question 2.

(my dealer is clueless).

the lease on my BMW X3 is up October, 2009. It takes approximately 8 weeks from order to delivery for a new Mini...so I should order beginning of August...

What is first date one can order a 2010? I'm guessing probably Sept/Oct....

When I placed my order for my JCW in August '08 I was told the '09's wouldn't go into production until mid-late October, (my build wasn't until December).

So, even though I built a '08 I received the upgraded '09 features.

Thanks to everyone for the information. I ordered a Dark Silver and Black Clubman S today. Dealer says 6-8 weeks.

Hummm, you were able to order? I went to my dealer today (I'm thinking of "upgrading" to a S Clubby). My MA tells me that Mini doesn't take orders anymore (plant is supposedly slowing down). I could "choose" from the inventory of Clubman in Canada, which is about 20 (litterally). He says it will probably go into September before orders can be inputed in the system. Weird....

The dealer took my order. I can't say it has been entered into "the system" yet, but they didn't say anything about a slow-down in production. I am supposed to get a production number in a week to 10 days. I'm sure if they have any difficulty getting it through their process, they'll tell me (and I'll post here, too). But September? 5 months without an order? Doesn't sound right to me, honestly.

I ordered a Clubman S on 4/11. MINIUSA shows it "on order" with no build date yet. I'm getting impatient.

Jsharra, how long was it before you got your production number?

That was fast! My MA told me it would be a week to 10 days before I get my production number.

alot of it depends on when the dealer has production dates available. Read the sticky in the 1st Gear forum, it will show you how to track your mini above and beyond what Mini and your MA provide.

sounds like they are trying to get rid of inventory.... also, they may not have any production dates available to them.

My feeling too. Clunman inventory is pretty low in Canada. But Coopers, they have a lot. Called a few dealers (in Ontario) and they all say the same...

Must be as Galoki and MyroMini said. I now have my production number (in less than a week), and Owners Lounge shows it as "On Order".

Yeah my dealer had some existing modifiable orders just about to go into production which shaves the stock 8 week timeframe to 6 weeks or slightly less.
