Hey, see, my gut feeling was wrong. Brent just called and it'll ship next week because they're on backorder for the Clubman. Goodie.

Arthur, we apologize for taking 24hrs to get back to your call and email. We are a part time group (this isn't our day job!) and will try to get back to folks faster. Thanks for the orders and support guys.

I had the same issues, standing in my garage with my car torn apart, my only transportation, with a hitch that would NOT fit. Finally ground the sh*t out of it and on the fourth fitting it went on. He seemed unconcerned with my predicament and offered to send me another one. Like I wanted to re-assemble, re-pack and ship, dis-assemble and so forth.

Maddane - I realize when the car is apart it is a pain, but, we offered to send you $100 to compensate you for your time dremmeling the holes. I think that is pretty good customer service and recognition of extra effort our error created. See the post below.

I haven't been too active on here in quite a long time, but I do still own and drive my '09 Clubman. We've been thinking about adding one of these hitches for a long time, so I'm glad to read the whole thread. Although I am sorry to read about some member's difficulties, I am coming away with the impression that most have found it not too difficult and quite worth while.

Hey All, Brent shipped it the day he said he would. Took me about 3 hrs. to install, not counting the time to buy the circle saw attachment. You also need a 4 inch extension for your 13mm socket. I had some difficult time separating the wheel arch fender from the bumper. Other than that, the hitch mounting holes were located as they should. No dremeling needed . I was really leery to drill a 2.5 inch hole in the bumper, though it'll be hidden by the plate. Never used a circle saw before... I love the car and it's less than a year old. Anyway, the drilling went without a problem. Just let the teeth bite slowly after the drill rpm is already up. I like the idea the hitch is hidden since they all rust after a few years. Can't wait to throw the roofbox on and mount the bikes for camping next weekend in CT!

Received my hitch today, which was earlier than expected. I will be installing it tomorrow and give details. Thanks Brent for the quick response. Just in time for my Yakima, RackandRoll 66" trailer and CD Solstice GT Kayak.

Finally installed the MiniDoMore hitch I ordered in October. Couldn't get motivated to crawl around a cold wet carport floor in the winter time, much nicer when it's 95F. Mine had no issues lining up the holes. Here's the hitch before the bumper went back on:

Only problem I had was figuring out where the tabs were for getting at the screws behind the fender flare. The instructions say to push on the lower tab while pushing on the bumper, you actually need to pull on the tab. Here's a pic of the tabs in case anyone needs help locating them:

Even though MDM's on-line instructions are the same as the printed ones included with the hitch, they're worth referencing because the pictures are clearer.

As I am getting ready to install the hitch on my car in the spring, I was reading the post from the start and looking for fold down holder on the net. I found a good price here:

http://www.etrailer.com/p-8802.html

$31.95

Almost half price than here:

Only been down to the corner to get gas. Boat and trailer probably weigh 2800 lbs max. I have towed about 1700 lbs with it before (Grasshopper 700lbs and Steiner 430Max ~900lbs). It actually does a nice job at speeds 35 and below.

Yes, it can be done but the access hole for the hitch will be right in the painted part of the bumper which is NOT ideal but the JCW bumper is pretty different compared to the standard Cooper bumper..
