Rear/Side window defroster problems?

My new Clubman, purchased in May '08, came with a small 1" discoloration on the front defroster line on the side window. The line felt solidly attached/bonded to the window, so I did not worry. I pointed this out to the dealer, before having my windows tinted, and they told me that it was not a problem, and that the "defroster lines" on the side window are the AM radio antennae, and are not defrosters. They tested the two rear windows, and they heat up/defrost fine, but the defroster on the side window does nothing. Is this correct? Is it really an antennae? Looks like a defroster to me. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. I could not find anything in the owners manual on this.

As austex said the side window lines are an antenna.

If you look they are only on one side.

I also was told the Side Window lines were the Antenna.
But I would Assume that if there were a dark spot, that would be a warranty Item if it were an antenna or defrost element it still isn't right.
