I'm going to leave it chrome for now. I might black out the rest of the chrome later.

A follow up to the JCW grill fitment. There are definetly two versions, S and non-S. I ordered a "COOPER JCW grill" from Minspeed (there was no way to specify S or non-S). They sent the non-S version which didn't fit my S at all, not even close. Sent it back and they're shipping the S version. Hopefully the new one will fit perfect. Wasted $11 on shipping though.

Wanting to black out my grille too, justa Clubbie, but it looks like the std grill is not all open slats while the S and the JCW are much more open?

I mentioned in another thread it's been bloody cold here in Michigan so didn't look too, too close, but that's what I thought I saw...

And without a temperature gauge, you'd never know if it effected your cooling?

Thoughts?

BTW, sbaker - are your stripes factory or afters? My Clubbie wants to look like yours only he's got a black top...

Hi,

The JustaCooper grill is MUCH more closed off than the other grills. It's warm down here in Central Texas and I did notice that sometimes Casper's cooling fan would run after turning him off. Since changing the grill out that doesn't happen anymore. On the rare occasion that we see below freezing temperatures (like 2 days this winter) Casper didn't seem to take any additional time to warm up heater-wise.

Casper's stripes were put on by the dealer. They charged a whole $100 for the stripes and installation. If I had to order them aftermarket I wouldn't hesitate to buy them from Cooper Flags.

I like that your Clubbie wants to look like mine. I think Casper's pretty special.

Sara

Well I fixed my sig graphic to match my black top and mirrors, so I guess he won't ever look exactly like Casper, but the stripes will probably go on in the spring... just need to decide if I tell my wife I'm gonna stripe it before I actually do :-)))

Black roof and mirrors look great, too! Not everyone can be just like Casper. I absolutely adore stripes on MINIs. I think MINIs look kind of naked without them.

Hmmm....I can't give you advice about whether or not to tell your wife first since I am a wife. On the other hand I did replace Casper's grill without telling my husband that I was going to do it. It took him a day or two before he even noticed.

The same thing has happened to me. I ordered from Outmotoring. Kind of annoying when my model car is enterd as Clubman S on the recepit and everything else is for an S. I am going to return it for a refund.
