Factory Aero Kit for Clubman

I am looking for some pictures of the FACTORY installed Aero Kit. Not pictures from the configurator. Does anyone here at NAM have this installed on their clubman. Please post pictures here. I am wanting to see what it looks like on the final production.

It looks great. I am posting pics but keep in mind I had my arches painted. If you want to see what it looked like before I installed the painted arches, just check out my gallery.

That is exactly what I am looking for. Although, I like the Original Black Fender Mouldings, but I don't like the cutoff point where it meets the front or rear bumper cover. It looks unfinished. IMO, I don't care for the painted Fender Mouldings like you have. Looks good, but not for me.

I am going to order Chili Red with Black top. The color of yours and the black fender mouldings blend more with the color. The red/black contrast makes it more pronounced. see the pic i have attached.

Ah, maybe I will pass on the Aero Kit. Another tuff decision prior to ordering.

SlimJim,

Here's a Flickr link to some photos of my AB Clubbie with the Aero. Like you I didn't like the cutoff, but I went with AB so the line doesn't show as much.

Lots more photos in my Flickr, please feel free to browse.

From what I have read, the '09 MINI Cooper (S) and Cabrio will have the painted arches with the Factory Aero Kit. But not the Clubman. I don't understand why they left the Clubman out, but they did.

Does the factory Aero Kit on the Clubman JCW hold up okay from stone chips on the part under the doors? Or does it get tore up bad?

The non-painted arches on the Aero Kit looks so weird to me because the bumper is designed to have painted arches since it does not have any trim going down the side of the bumper. If I had the Aero kit I would have everything painted for sure. I personally like the black trim all around the car on the non-aero, it makes the MC a little beefy. The front JCW Aero bumper also continues the black trim on there.

marasmini: just to give you an idea if your arches were painted. I have no idea how R112s got in there

This is the factory Aero Kit that MINI in putting on the Clubman JCWs. Black plastic trim (non-painted) around wheel wells and the lower side pieces under doors are flared with top portion painted body color. This is NOT THE SAME as the online configuator will show. I'll get a better side picture the next non-rainy day.

^ that's the JCW Aero Kit. It has black unpainted trim on the bumpers and fenders and even the painted vented side skirt is surrounded by black plastic. My favorite but completely different from the "standard Aero Kit".

Its a little difficult to see in the picture, but I DO NOT have the vented side skirt. The front bumper looks like the JCW aero kit and the side skirt looks like the old 2008/2009 factory aero kit.

Thanks for the pictures. The window sticker I received on my 2012 Clubman JCW states:
"John Cooper Works Aero Kit" with price of "Included". But what actually came on the car has the side pieces from the Aero Kit with the front and back of the car getting the JCW Aero Kit. When I brought the discrepancy to the dealer's attention, they stated that the other Clubman JCW that arrived the same time had the same kit combination as mine. Not sure if there is any resolution to get them to put the correct side skirt of the JCW Aero Kit on.

For my tastes, I'm not a fan of the aero kit. What many have done is go to just the front JCW bumper retrofit. My clubbie is at the shop right now having this retrofit done. No side skirts or rear bumper though. Just the front.

12 JCW when u first said all that I thought it was so weird but I guess the dealer simply messed up. A JCW Aero Kit comes with the vented style. I'd definitely bring it to the attention of both your SA and the manager. Truth is its improperly equipped. At least you didn't get the full black plastic, that's a real reason to be pissed. When you ordered your car did you ask for an S with the full JCW package? Or ordered a JCW car? From what I understand, the dealer adds the JCW stuff themselves when checked as an option. If that is the case, the dealer is solely responsible.

Tomanizer the JCW aero front is definitely a great upgrade that alot of 2nd gen guys put on. If your car is still at the body shop you should ask them to additionally paint your side skirts to emulate the aero style. I had it done on mine and I couldn't be happier. It filled out the car and since the skirt has a nice contour in it, it also added a little more sleekness. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about:

I ordered an actual Clubman JCW. When it arrived and was different than expected, the MA deferred to the MINIUSA.com disclaimer: "Mini reserves the right to make changes without notice."

That's complete BS. What if they had given you a standard front bumper? Would they claim the same thing then? 1 Aero skirt with needed accessories costs about $140 in unpainted parts. 1 JCW side skirt costs about $440 with needed accessories. Thinking about it, with the kind of coin you put down on your Mini I'd be pissed. Somethings can be covered by that disclaimer but they gave you parts from another model.

Odd that they changed it, but I've always liked (maybe even preferred) the standard Aero side skirt when on the Clubbie. It is a little cleaner looking than the JCW Aero version. I'd keep it as-is and enjoy the car.

If they ever revert back to the previous JCW kit side skirts on the factory JCW Clubman, then yours will be a rare one-off!

True, it really isn't bad. It's just that what I had wanted and ordered did not get done as said, and the MA isn't getting things answered real clear from his contacts.

I'm anxious to see any new JCW Clubmans that are built to see what kit others are getting.

Maybe a supply chain issue, and they decided to go with the other version for now? Or could also have been a mistake during the March changeover to the JCW Clubman with standard body kit.

I have a friend who had a similar issue with a BMW E92 coupe. During the March updates, they goofed and put the wrong suspensions in the cars. Happened for about a month before anyone noticed and corrected the issue. BMW did not offer any retrofit or compensation at the time, and only settled on an individual basis when people hired legal council. But we can't talk about that

Anyway, will be watching the thread to see how it goes. Any more pics? It is still a very nice combo for a JCW.

Right, I may be out of luck, but I will try a couple ideas to get the other side skirts - even as an extra set. I'll keep all update on any progress with MINI on the issue. Attached is the "In with the New" (2012 Clubman JCW) and "Out with the Old" (2005 Toyota X-Runner).
