R55 Water Flooding Cockpit
Water Flooding Cockpit
I've heard about this on other Coopers and wonder if it applies to the Clubman. One R56 owner said he creaked open his windows after a heavy storm to cool the cockpit a little. Coming to a corner, as he turned, water came pouring through the windows. He suspected that it's caused by the shape of the roof. Question, has this happened to Clubman owners? I've had this happen with my old Jeep Cherokee. I simply braked hard to get the water off the roof. Will I have to do the same with my Clubman?
I'd have to say that in my experience with both kinds of MINIs that the term "flooding" would have to be quite an exaggeration. Yes, sometimes the water can come in but it's nothing to get excited about - in my not so humble opinion.
the clubman's roof is sloped towards the front AND towards the rear ... so you will see streams of water going in both directions during a torential downpour.
the raised edges of the side of the roof help somewhat with water coming in if the window is open ... however IT WILL if you try to corner with water up there.
flooding? ... depends how small you are

By the way, I'm sick of rain... We've had at my house more that 15 inches of rain in the past day and a half. Driving me nuts!
