Steering Wheel Wrap

So we just picked up our Clubman yesterday and I'm sure I'll have a slew of questions in the coming days. Let's start with this one...

Does the stock steering wheel come wrapped in leather, or is it some sort of synthetic leather? The texture to me feels very dry and not very supple like real leather does. Can I treat it with something to make it more supple feeling? Does the feel change over the initial few weeks?

I believe its some sort of synthetic, doesn't feel like leather, I actually like it, my wife who's RX350 is the real thing, does not like it.
last two questions, no and no.

The MFSteeringWheel claims to be leather.

It's better than the 'leather' on a BMW was 8 years ago.

If it's real leather, can I treat it with anything to make it more supple? Sorry, I'm not much of a detailer...

The wheel is real leather. On page 113 of the manual, it says to use a leather care product on the leather(not differentiating between seats and steering wheel) twice a year.
