Is there a front PDC or is it just for the rear?

 

Huh? Why would you need a front PDC? Anyone who does should not be driving at all

I can see why you would be puzzled. But, did you know that anyone born with limited or no eye sight in one eye will never develop distance perception. While most people learn to compensate, judging distances are always a bit more difficult in these cases. I know you are not suggesting that people who are impared should not drive, but it was intended as a serious question. If you ever watch children play baseball or sports where distance perception is important you can see some who wait way too long to react to the ball. These may be people who had considerable difference in the vision of one eye and never developed distance perception. But back to the topic of PDC does anyone know for sure that it is only for the rear. The reason I ask is that when I ordered my 2009 JCW I ordered PDC. The order says Parking Distance Control (rear only), this to me suggested there may be a front PDC.

According to ask-mini, the reason the order says Parking Distance Control (rear only) is that it's following BMW spec list and there are models of BMW with front and back options. Unfortunately we don't - would have been nice.

 

If you look at the order details via OL, it shows "Park Distance Control (rear)", for what it's worth...
