Surprise-English Oak Shifter

My Pepper White/Black Clubman S with hot chocolate leather/cloth was just delivered to my dealer yesterday. The dealer was closed but I stopped by to check out my vehicle from outside and looked in the car window to find an unexpected surprise. The automatic shifter was an absolutely great looking english oak matching the wooden steering wheel and wooden dash board. Has anyone else received their Clubman S with the new English Oak Shifter? Was I supposed to receive with the wooden steering wheel package?

Yep, the shifter knob comes with the wheel!

Yes, you get the steering wheel, shifter, dash, and door trim in the English Oak package. I chose to let the English Oak trim be the main feature of my MINI's interior. The wood is fairly dark, but man when the sun hits it it's whole character changes. There are so many subtle nuances in the figuring of the wood...I really like it a lot

btw, the English Oak package has been one of the most topsy-turvy interior packages of the lot. For awhile the steering wheel wasn't available, then it was, then shift knobs seemed to not show up, then it did. This was the case w/ mine...all the EO pieces were there but the shift knob. Finally, last week I got the shift knob and my package is now complete. Very, very pleased w/ this option.

But,but,but...

If you get the leather/cloth combo upholstery, you can add the English oak dash panels @ N/C, but does that get you the shifter? Or, do you have to do the wheel and the dash panels to get the rest of the oak package.

NEED PICS, btw.

I too have the max wood in my car.

I have wood on the doors, the dash, the steering wheel and the shiftknob.

Any idea how well Aesthetic Creations' wood center console overlay works with the English Oak? I understand that its not identical.

The UK "English Oak" options come in two parts but I'm not certain the US is the same:

English oak trim just gives you that, but no more, and you need to spec the "Wood Steering Wheel" if you want that and the oak gear knob as well. I.E. you can have the trim without the wheel and knob or the other way round.

BTW, the wooden wheel includes the multi-function bits; and it's lovely to hold so I'm very glad I chose it instead of leather.

There are some pics on my Flickr page - if you don't mind looking at a RHD car!

We have the oak steering wheel ordered, as well as the Hot Chocolate leather. Am I correct that the outside of the wheel will be the oak and the inner wheel will be the Hot Chocolate?

No. the inner part of the wheel will be black.

You can order the Eng Oak steering wheel and have oak and black,

or order the HC wheel with no wood.

I know this, because I wanted the Tuscan wheel with wood and could not get it. **pout**

Here's what the all tuscan interior looks like....*drool* It would have been so awesome to have the eng oak instead of black on the outside. What a bummer!

y'know what? I am looking at that pic, and it looks like the color line is tuscan, too?

That wasn't an option that I am aware of??http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...cratchhead.gif

Is it the controls for the NAV system?

Why no wood with convenience?

Hi Folks,

Nice pictures!

My MA tells me the Clubman I have on order can't be ordered with the wood wheel, because The wood wheel is not available with the convenience package".

On the configurator, it tells me I can't get the wood unless I "remove comfort bluetooth with USB iPod adapter".

The only reason I can understand this might be that they put the USB antenna in the wheel somewhere, and the wood may be mounted with metal that interferes with the bluetooth. Does anyone with a wood wheel have the comfort bluetooth / iPod setup?

So, I guess I'll forgo this for now, but if I ever get my grubby hands on a wood wheel - like ordering from the parts department, I'll see if it works.

Cheers
(had to edit this, there was a bunch of HTML added for some reason)

If you really want to know about Comfort with wood wheel, I'd start a thread in the general forum. The Zig and Zag folks would see it, too.
