Cold Air Intake...

Hey Everyone,

So with my Clubman S coming Monday, I was thinking about putting in a H&K cold air intake. I've never installed one before (my brother the gearhead who has 2 classic Minis and a Lancer Evo will help), and was wondering what brands, and or models would be recommended. Thanks everyone!

The DDM Works CAI ram Air is great. It's quiet when you drive normal, and when you open it up the response it great. It's like a 2nd sport button. Bolts right in the clubman with no modifications. The easiest CAI I ever put in.

Does the fit the Non S CLubman as well? DO you have a link to their site to buy one?

Thanks

DoS R56 MCS & MCS Clubman CAI

If anyone is still looking for a CAI, check out the latest from Defenders of Speed.

Has anyone installed an ALTA CAI on a Clubman S? I had one on my 05 MCS and I loved it. But I'd like to know what people think of their system with the new MINI.

I wonder if an aftermarket CAI would void the factory warranty?

I don't know if it voids the warranty but I actually had the dealership put the CAI system on my old MINI. That way they were doing the work (in fact they recommended the system) and if there was a problem they had their hands in the mix!

This one looks really intriguing. I like how it pulls the air from the cowl inlet instead of all the work to make the hood scoop functional (which would probably make my strut tower brace not fit). I might have to try it out.

Anyone have the Forge CAI? All I ever hear about is Alta and DDM's CAI's.

I asked my dealer when I was doing it and they said it wouldn't void it. Some dealers let things slide more than others from what I have seen.

Whenever you're ready, let me know.

DoS is a full fledged NAM vendor now as of Wednesday 9/03/08. We're just waiting to get our announcement on the homepage and vendor listing.

Also, we just added a pre-cut bulkhead panel for the R56 CAI to the website for those who want to save themselves the trouble of cutting the panel and cost of the hole saw that's needed for this mod.

Thanks for reading.
