Maximum "Tallness" to Sit Comfortably in Clubman?

I have a friend who is slightly over 6'6". He was able to sit comfortably in my Clubman with the seat at its lowest and back the farthest. He could stretch out his legs comfortably and there looked to be at least about 3" free space above his head (I have a sunroof).

We were in a hurry and he sat only on the passenger side, but it didn't look to either of us like he'd have any problems driving it. He was very surprised that it was so comfortable since his experiences with many other larger cars wasn't nearly so pleasant.

Does anyone have any Clubman "tall person" experiences to comment on?

I am 6'7" and drove an 03 MC for 4 years and am about to pickup a Clubman.

By far the most comfortable car I have driven ... and I was used to driving old American land boats, like Buick Regals and Ford LTDs.

HOWEVER ...

Sunroofs do take away from headroom AND Sport Seats with the extra padding as well.

So this is why I chose ... standard seats AND no sunroof on the Clubman

Not saying it does not work with them, its just felt a bit tighter to me.

I'm 6' 5". I went to test drive a clubman. Strangely, when I sat in the standard clubman, my head grazed the middle sunroof beam, even with the seat all the way down, unless I tilted the seat back a fair amount. but when I test drove the S, I didn't have a problem. I'll also note the standard was a manual, and the S was auto. I hope it's an S non-S difference, not manual/auto for some reason, because I've decided to go with the manual. I noticed that the dimensions of the S are slightly different than the regular (.3" taller--but maybe this is just the 16" wheels, and also slightly longer and wider) so maybe this accounts for it. I'm going to go for another test drive to confirm, but overall the Clubman seemed better than many much larger cars I have been in.

The MINI (Zig, Zag, or Zug) is the most tall/big person-friendly small sporty vehicle made. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to any giant.

I'm only 6'3" but there are lots of cars I just can't comfortably fit in.

I have a buddy who is an ex NFL wide reciever/special teams player.

He's 300lbs (no fat) and 6'6". He barely fit in the Clubman. With the seat all the way down and back we managed to make it to dinner but he was not about to live in it daily. LOL

I'm 6'4" and the seat in the Clubman actually goes back too far. I have to pull it up a tad. I have a sunroof and still have plenty of headroom with the sport seats. I have to admit, when you're sitting inside, it is definitely bigger inside than it looks from outside.

The only issue I have when the seat is that far back is I cannot see the overhead traffic lights unless I lean pretty far forward.

after sitting in another clubman, I've determined that at 6' 5" I can't have a sunroof in a clubman. If I sit up straight, my head just grazes the cross-bar between the two sunroofs. I'm pretty bummed that I won't be able to order the sunroof.

I'm 6'4", and have the seat moved up 2 clicks in my R56 MCS...I have to believe the Clubman is at least this roomy, if not more...

Forget about the sunroof, if you love the car. I've had a sunroof and found the light annoying unless I wore a hat...I'm fairly tall for a female at about 5'9".

6'4 here, sat in a clubbie, mostly leg and torso, it's a bit snug, but I am coming from a Mazda 3 and you figure out how to sit in your car. To keep your bum still, get cloth seats and leather outter...keeps you from feeling like you have to fight the seatbelt while sliding around the seats. And I do believe you get the addition of a dual lumbar adjustment with those seats...I believe.

PS...I sat in the back for a good 10 minutes at the dealership and felt comfy as well while the wife was dinking with the buttons and ***** and such, didn't feel shut in at all. If I had to share with my rottie, might be a bit of an issue though...he's a seat hog.

I came from a Mazda3 as well and the Clubman has a lot more space for the driver ... a lot.
However, it sounds like you tried out an S, which has Sports seats. They take away a lot of headroom and make things feel a bit more tighter for us lanky folk. Make sure you try the standard seats as well ... whcih unfortunatelly are not available on the S.

I saw a guy today that got in one that was 6'10'' he was able to fit and drive but was not comfortable. He was buying the car for his wife, but wanted to make sure that he could fit it in.
