I have just ordered the Clubman and only problem was told by the dealership that all "S" models come with run-flat tires and that there is no room for a spare in the car. I was hoping for an easier ride in the Clubman and believe that the 16" run-flats would be a hard ride. I was told that the dealership would trade even for the 15" tires but do not want to change the size of tires. Does anyone have an opinion as to these tires and any insight as to what kind to get.

The ride is not going to be much different than a Cooper S. Drive one of those with the 16" wheels and see what you think. Changing tires won't make a tremendous difference.

 

I emailed my MA as my Clubby was ordered in early December. The configurator gives you a choice of wheels and one has the runflats, while the other has performance tires unless you specifically request all season tires.
So runflats don't come as mandatory on every Clubman S. I was happy to have it confirmed that the tires will be performance. Now to order some crown spoke wheels to replace the ones on the build site. The dealership would switch them but at an additional $350 cost, so I opted to order some from another source later.

 

Every Clubman S & Coupe S comes with runflats. You get a choice of all season runflats or performance runflats. Only on a non-S is there the possibility of non-runflats & only in 15" size.
