Do you like the CHECKERED wind deflector?

I will be picking up my PW cabrio in a couple of weeks. I haven't bought a wind deflector yet. I thought a checkered would look nice in a PW. But I've never seen one in a car. In another thread someone said that the checkers are really faint. I don't want to spend the extra bucks for checkers if you can't even see them.

Can anyone comment on how they really look ?

I'd agree that the checkered deflector would look best on a PW car - I'm more a fan of the discreet look of the solid one myself.

Wind Deflector - EBAY

I chose the plain and have been very pleased. I got mine through ebay for about $365 which was better than the dealer.

OEM part with storage bag included. Showed up at my door 3 days after ordering.

I think the checkered one is a bit over the top personally... the Mini has such clean lines that adding something so visually "busy" would seem to defeat the point. If I were ever to purchase one of the deflectors I'd buy one in simple black, personally, but that's just me.

I though I read that you really cannot see the checkers except from outside the car. Since you're getting it to *drive* with, I'd say save the few extra dollars to put into something else. I guess I'm one of those people that need to see practicallity in purchasing something visual like that when you really only get to enjoy it when the car is at rest.

I asked for the plain when I bought one. All they had was the checkerd and it was offered at the same price. I got it and haven't looked back.

That was a joke - "haven't looked back"... Get it?

nevermind...

If you haven't bought one yet, you might try Morristown MINI's ebay store - they had the best deal I'd seen when we bought our wind deflector.

As far as checkers go, I saw a checkered wind deflector recently at a club event, and I have to say it was a VERY subtle effect.

Got a plain one coming from them, looks like they have good prices and the ship fast.

I did see the checkered deflector at the dealers'. The pattern sure seemed faint. I don't know.

I know they have both kinds for much cheaper on eBay. That's probably the route I'll go.

My husband has a solid black, and I have checkered. I've never heard anyone comment about his windscreen, but I hear "Oooh, I like those checks." all the time. It's all about what you want to spend the extra $ for.
Also, he has a habit of misplacing his screen (don't ask). Since mine is different, I know where mine is!

You guys with the checkered ones should post pics :)
