Jump in, let's go!

I recently got the welcome kit from MINI and the handbook inside shows how to jump into your car. Before I go out and kick my side view mirror off, are people really leaping into their cars?

I did do some online research and the best I could come up with was this:

It appears our hero is stepping on his door. Either his car is really low or he has a stepladder to help him.

Given my abject failure at the "Jump In" game at Mini.com a year or so ago, there's NO WAY I'll be hurtling over the sills of the real thing. I'll watch you though.

Get a mini-trampoline to help get some vertical unless you can hurtle the rear hoops. It might help to be able to do well in the long jump too. Got any Olympic medals in that event?:lol::lol:

No Way!

As tempting as it is... there's no way I'd try it. If for no other reason, the window sticks up a little, even when it's all the way down. True, you'd probably break the mirror off before hitting the window, but it's too risky nonetheless. There's such a small "safe" area to jump through, I'm afraid I'd take out the mirror, break the back window sticking up, tear the seat, bend the gear-shift, break off that cheap @ss armrest, or worse yet... land back on the ground, supporting my body weight with my nose.

Ugh. After thinking about it now... I wanna try it! I bet if I jump out the 2nd floor bay window I can make it straight into the seat... anybody wanna hold the camera?

Get some cones and pillows and practise a bit? Might need some advil handy, too.

i tried to "jump" into my rx7 convertible once. doesnt work well. steering wheel are too deep under the dash, you just look like an ass trying to slide in. i believe the mini would be the same. sliding over the hood is much cooler anyways..LOL

There are proper, official ways to jump into a MINI. Go to this link (takes a while to load). Select "Films" media type and "MINI Cooper Cabrio" category, and click Go. Page 1 has the two Jump ad videos. Page 2 has a How to Jump video.

The Jump ad videos can be downloaded separately:
"Jump" ad (5.59 MB)
The making of "Jump" (9.43 MB)

Wow...I thought the guy was on a wire but he was really jumping in! I don't think the mini-tramp will fit in the boot though...
