2005 R52 Cabrio Top Replaced Under Warranty?
Hello All,
I read an old thread that suggested that the 2005/2006 Mini Cooper Convertibles were issued a recall for excessive top wear. Apparently, according to the post, the tops in these years were improperly configured which created excessive wear. My new to me 2005 has a couple of dime sized wear holes on either side - might be worth speaking to my local Mini dealer (assuming there is any legitimacy to this recall). Has anyone had their tops replaced under this recall? Does anyone have a copy of the BMW/Mini issued recall notice? Thanks, Chris |
I am not aware of such a recall but that does not mean it does not exist.

There was no recall, but some convertible owners did get their top replaced under the 4 year/50K mile manufacturer warranty. However, your car is 13 years old and its warranty expired 9 years ago.

Yep, no recall, I had mine replaced under warranty. But that was back in the day. Nothing they will do now.
I had the white marks repair also. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...correctly.html Best is to get the new top, Pick a new color and get the white marks adjustments/ repair done. Or get the top fixed by an upholstery shop that does tops. Will not look that good but they can patch it then you can do the fix adjustment. New top fabric: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...abric-top.html |
