2007 Convertible Better Armrest Source

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced better armrest (with padding and storage)? My max price point is $100. Recommendations please.

Tired of it opening all the time? I'm in a habit of using my elbow to close it. I'm curious if you find anything! I found a thread where a buy used some large easy to use by hand screws to keep it from opening and people seemed to like it.

Yup, mines a PITA too. I've learned to live with it just like 'Poker' and there are a couple of needed doodads in there. They say you can get used to anything but I can't get used to having the top up.

Euro flip top is my choice if you want to spend a little more. But it does hold up and work. No slide back issues like the factory one i have.

That's the one I bought last year for my '04 R53 that never came with one....I like it a lot.....very well built......

my R52 has the stock Mini armrest.....it's way smaller and every time I touch it, the top always slides back.....

I had this problem and actually bought a used one that is firmer. I ended up not using the replacement one though and installing some thick sticky back felt on the slider parts where the stock felt had worn away. It works great! I dont have the issue anymore.

Anyone wanna buy my unused used armrest?!

I’m confused. I’ve owned my 06 for only two months and it has a stock armrest. But it doesn’t flip up on its own, and it doesn’t slide. What am I missIng? Is it suppose to be springloaded? Maybe mine is broke.

Is it like the one pictured above with the flip top, or the factory installed armrest with the sliding top and big plastic frame? Some people got tired of the sliding top armrest opening all of the time and glued it shut to just use it as an armrest and forget about the extra storage.

it has the big plastic frame but the lid doesn’t open on its own I have to flip it open and it doesn’t slide. In fact I find it inconvenient to open because there is no edge that you can easily grab to flip open the top. The entire armrest will tilt backwards if you grab it from the front edge and lift it. Is that what you mean by lift? It can’t do that on its own though because my arm is always on top of it keeping It from raising.

The slider, stock unit has no spring back, it just slides back and forth. You can click here and see the pics of the underside of the covers,

A,ha! It appears that the previous owner modified mine with hinges. I thought that it looked a little non-oem, but it works! See pic.

Yes, home depot and lowes Mods strike again. Never seen the door swing armrest mod. Mystery solved.

I didn’t even realize they were suppose to slide till I read this post. I can’t take credit for the help byes previous owner did it.
