Was bound to happen sooner or later. Guess someone is back on the wait list. Either that or waiting for their MINI to get fixed.

gokartride 10-30-2004 07:00 PM

Dang! I've seen several of these....same place, same (or similar) degree of damage!!! This includes, unfortunately, my own MINI. Mine was 6 weeks in the shop and (according to the invoice anyway) over $7K to repair. Looks great now, though.

Watch out for that front passenger side folks!!!

kenchan 10-31-2004 06:06 AM

All that wait and it only takes a split second to ruin it all.

gokartride 10-31-2004 06:14 AM

HEY, THAT TOP IS UP!!!!!

Perhaps the owner was in breech of their contractual agreement.............if...you...know...what...I.. .mean.:sly: Careful, they're everywhere....and they're watching....:sly:

Could have been covered by clause #5 (hair plugs)

More disturbing was the project car in the back ground. Euro plate with Porsche 914 tail lights.

Looks more like the backside of the "rollback" trailer to me. But I also hate when they chop good metal up!

addamaniac 11-01-2004 07:46 AM

totalled?

MGCMAN 11-01-2004 07:50 AM

Looks like a European and not a North American car. The Euro-plates on the transport vehicle and MINI's front bumper's plate frame, the size and location of the airbags deployed, and the stickers on the windshield all point to a UK, RHD version of the Cabrio. Any thoughts?

Yes you are correct. The car you are looking at is an UK market Cooper cabrio. I believe I seen these pics over at MINI2.com.

Gotta make you feel good about driving the car! Look at the right door and all the glass, completely intact. Looks like a big hit too!

Makes me a little more comfortable in the land of Hummers and Excursions!

mcswrks 11-02-2004 12:44 PM

Guess that guy can join me on the wait list for a new 05 mini-hes not alone:smile:

After seeing several crashed MINI pictures, I am still amazed at how little damage there is to the passenger compartment. It's bad to see crashed MINIs, but good to see the results of their construction.

biggripper 11-02-2004 09:13 PM

I wonder if this is from a Blind lane change...driver couldn't see over his cabrio's butt...got into trouble and ended up rear ending someone?

Red 11-04-2004 05:58 PM

Someone had to be first.
