Service update on new to me 06 S Cab

Well, we just bought our 2nd Mini, this time an 06 S cabriolet with 106K and a decent history. Its BRG metallic with tan and black leather. In my OCD fashion, I've been changing oil, air filter, tires, conditioned the top, nourished the leather seats, new battery, changed the rear trim pieces and last (so far) but not least, the belt, tensioner, and crank damper. Went with the tensioner and ATI Damper from Way. So far got everything apart and the the tensioner back in this was actually easier than my R50 (or maybe Im just learning how to do it. I have 3 hours into it so far) Glad I checked the belt. Several ribs were ripped and there was a spot where all the ribs had been ground off. Putting on a new upper motor mount while I have it apart. So far so good. Way gave me some tips and they have sure saved time in the long run. THANK YOU Way!!!

Very cool! What did you use for conditioning the top?

the 303 protectant kit for FABRIC tops. it has a cleaner and then you put the protectant on. Pretty impressed with how water beads up now.

Well about 2 more hours this morning and wheels were back on ground all finished. I was nicely surprised how quickly and easily everything went back together. Motor seems much smoother now and actually seems to have noticably more power - hope its not a figment of m y imagination. All told it was about 5 hours from start to finish. pbly could have gone a little faster but kept going down other rabbit trails. Its amazing how quickly it goes with the right tools.
