ADD satellite radio to factory HK radio in R52

This is my 1st post. I want to add satellite radio to my factory HK audio system in my 2005 R52. I've done this before when I owned the same car in the past. I just can't find/remember the info. I once bought a simple cheap satellite under dash gizmo that added satellite to my factory system. It required you to press some buttons in a certain sequence. It really worked great. I'd like to do the same again or anything that allows the factory radio to go satellite. I don't want a satellite pod with an FM a modulator and I don't want to replace my factory radio. Thanks!!!

On my 2004 MCS with HK, I installed an 'XM Direct' in the boot where the CD changer cable is located. Seamless integration. But that was 12 years ago.

I used a "blitz-safe" adaptor to add Xm....made the car think it was sirrius ...plugged into the CD changer where the OEM one plugged in...
But radios have come so far...with color displays,etc...
In all honesty, satalite radio sounds pretty poor in this day and age....heck even regular radio is higher quality, with HD being better....
You might find a used kit...mine was sold with the kit...
I will tell you the sales folks at XM/SIRRIUS are lieing and steeling bastards imo...
I finely canceled...took about 45 minutes and 5 transfers....took the Antenna off the roof...a mini magnet one...
6 months later I get a bill marked past due..called them..."we gave you 3 month freet hen" you got a year at a "discount price" at about 2x the typical price....
Fought about 3 more months...got it forgiven....
Then a few days later about 25 states attorney general's settled with them...same issues...them doing face cancelations to try to keep numbers higher to make them look better to investors....

Zippy's message reminds me that my installation also includes a 'blitz-safe.'

Make sure the freaking CD changer plug is there in the trunk. For some inexplicable reason certain 2005 and 2006 cabrios didn't come with one. I found out after going to the trouble of buying all the gear. Grrrr....
