AC and rear defroster doesn't work
Is power to the AC and rear window defroster lines connected together?
Neither work. Plus, the little lights on the buttons don't turn on when you push the buttons. I'm more concerned about the rear defroster. I've looked at the defroster fuse in the driver's foot well fuse box and it's still intact. Another weird situation. I went to for a long drive, had the air on, and hit the AC button to test it out. AC light did not turn on, nor did ice cold air escape the vents. However, after I parked, I noticed the condensate dripping from the car, so something about the AC is working. and one more, on a brisk day, I drove and wanted to just use the fan to pull in outside air. But the air was much warmer than the outside world. Is this normal? is there a way to draw in the cold outside air? So I'm confused about what is failing here! |
Hello,
Have you spilled and drink or soda on the climate control unit face ? Possible it sticking or the fluid has damaged it. Did you check the fuses under the engine bay on the driver side also ? For the rear defrost also make sure the cable is connected to element on the side of the window , on a convertible when you put the top up and down those cable can pop off. |

The car is used, so I'm not sure about drink history. I'll pop off that plate eventually and look behind the controls to see what I can find. The knobs that control fan speed and distribution work correctly. I tried looking at the fuses under the hood but couldn't make much of them. I'll have to check that again. I'll also check the wire at the defroster window. Wouldn't it be great if it was that simple! |

Their is one wire that runs and connects to the defrost element. It has a tab connection. Post up your pics.
