2008 Cooper Conv. 40K had transmission replaced, still jerking and slipping
I went in for an oil change in June and the service manger said that while they were driving the car back into the stalls... it started jerking and he said I needed a new transmission. He asked if I had noticed this type of behavior. I said no Anyway they would cover the cost (something about there soon to be a recall anyway). It's been a short time since and we've since moved from San Diego (where I had the new transmission installed) Since I never knew what the first jerking felt like... I'm not sure why now the car is very slow to accelerate and then jerks into gear (at least that is what it feels like). It doesn't happen every time out but maybe 7 out of 10. One time a EP showed up in the area of the odometer where the D, R etc is normally illuminated? Then all of a sudden where the time was displayed now shows the amount of miles I just drove????? Crazy. Anyway, my main concern is the jerking. With a new transmission? Can it be something else. I don't have a mini dealer that I know of up here in Seattle. But I'm thinking I should take it in. Any thoughts on what the issues might be.
