Sun roof works but top won't open?
 

I'm new to this car, bought it last Friday. 2006. The top has been working fine. Yesterday went to open, pushed the button, the sun roof opened OK, pushed a second time and the red light on the switch flashed and nothing. Closed the sun roof and tried again...same thing. I checked the handles in the luggage compartment and they were down to the side as they should be (handles to close top manually). Previous owner said they could be knocked open by luggage. Suggestion on what to check next, no dealer in my area...thanks

In the trunk area (some call it 'the boot'), there is a movable shelf; only the front of the shelf raises. The shelf must be in the down position, with it's left (driver's side) "leg" depressing a small switch. If this switch is not depressed, the roof will not retract.

Check that and try again.

I checked the shelf contact in the luggage area, it seemed like it may have been making marginal contact. I duck taped it down in place, tried the top and worked fine...thanks
