What's in your "Top-Down" Soundtrack?
I know all of you have that song that comes on when you're driving on that perfect day, on the perfect road with the top down that just makes you say, "yeah, life is good." I think we all need to share our favorite tunes so that the soundtrack is always right for our motoring experiences. I tend to like Jazz, Electronic, or something that doesn't quite fit a category, but there are those tried and true Rock tunes that fit the moment too.
I'll start with a couple: Pursuit of Happiness by Weekend Players Back on the Chain Gang by The Pretenders Colour by Atjazz What's in your iPod? |
Excerpts from our hastily assembled, 98 song drive home after delivery playlist:
Free Fallin' - Tom Petty All Right Now - Free Born to Run - -Bruce Springsteen Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar You're So Square - Buddy Holly This Time It's Real - Tower of Power Maria - Blondie Got My Mind Set On You- George Harrison Panama - Van Halen Cowboys to Girls - The Intruders Got to Get You into My Life - Earth, Wind, and Fire version Back in Black - AC/DC Me & Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin Barracuda - Heart Everything's Coming Our Way - Santana Three Good Reasons - Dwight Yoakum Drive My Car - The Beatles Piece of My Heart - Erma Franklin Ventura Highway - America Crush With Eyeliner - R.E.M. Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band She's Got Everything - The Kinks Luz Verde - Luis Miguel I've Been Everywhere - Johnny Cash My Best Friend's Girl - The Cars Wild Night - Van Morrison Sugar Magnolia - The Grateful Dead Beast of Burden - The Rolling Stones The Thanks I Get - Wilco No Hay Perdon - Go Betty Go Crazy - Aerosmith Don't Stop Me Now - Queen PLUS: The entire Foo Fighters Catalog I just got my ipod dock to input jack adaptor and I think it does sound better than the audio input to headphone jack, so I enjoyed some Miles Davis (Kind of Blue and Birth of the Cool) and Mozart (Symph. 40 & 41). Works pretty well (the songs and the cable setup) |
after that list all I can say is WORD! Good list.

I think Steely Dan is a love-em-or-hate-em group, with nothing in between. I've always loved them, but some of my friends constantly give me hell for it.
|
Well, I'm still about 6-8 weeks away from having somethign to drive, but here in Colorado I think you'd have to include Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh!
|
You have much more patience than I do SPF Zero - I went to the dealer intending to order, and drove off the lot 3 hours later. Delayed gratification? Nah, maybe later...
