Cabrio trunk mounted bike rack

Has anyone tried a trunk mounted bike rack on a mini cabrio? I have one that seems to fit but I am concerned about the hatch dropping down.

I have not but I've thought about it. Do you have a picture of how you attached yours?

Trunk mounted bike rack didn't work/Hitch mount decision

I tried it but it didn't work. I think I need to go with a hitch mounted rack. The only question is "which one"? I'm too cheap for the factory one since I cannot use my existing hitch mount with it and the "minidomore" seems some of a pain (removing the bumper).
I found this model:

They claim that it takes an 1/2 hour to install but you have to drop the rear exhaust and spare tire.

The MINIDoMore is easy to install -- also about 30-45 (and you don't have to touch the exhaust). . . and do you not have to drop the bumper for the one you linked? I don't know -- I never tried it 'cause it's no good with the MCS.
The nice thing about the MINIDoMore is that it's totally hidden when not in use -- whereas the one you show, I believe hangs below the bumper.

Check out Bird Automotive. He used my Mini for the prototype and it works great.
