So far I have encouraged two of my friends to get MINIs
one got a 2006 CR MCS and the other a 2006 AB MCS
I also convinced my aunt to get a 2006 HB MCS and she loved it so much she bought her son, (my cousin) a 2003 CR MC

This one lady at work asked me a couple times about how much i liked it and i told her about how much fun i have with it, she got a LY/W MC a few months later.
My uncle got an PS MCS but i never convinced him about it, i think he just went and got one just to be a copy cat!! (never really liked him)

I have a roommate that wants one. And my dad (if he didn't have a BMW Z4M) and a few people ask at spot light if I like it enough to recommend.

 

My brother almost got one. Instead he got a Lexus IS350.

When I was a owner of a Miata, I convinced a friend of mine to get one. Now I'm trying to convince him to sell his Miata and get a MINI

 

i actually havent convinced anyone but i have done the opposite. told them it's a really fun car. but never told them to get one.
i want to be the one known as having a mini (thru my friends and wat not) and dont want anyone else to get it.
(guess im selfish. but it would be nice to have my friends with minis)
MANY people do like it tho. people always ask me if it's mine and if it's a fun car to drive.

I ought to get a hefty discount on a 335i coupe for myself!

my cousin who owns the CR MC works at a BMW dealer if you are really interested in getting a discounted 335i, i can ask him what he can do for me

 

If I can take a raincheck 'til about this time next year, I'm interested. Gotta save up some green! I live close to Chattanooga, TN....(not too far from Spartanburg), so I'd get Performance Center Delivery. The distance to the selling dealership wouldn't be an issue.

None - but I haven't tried to. I'll tell them about the car and answer their questions, but there's nothing in it for me if they buy one or not. Most people I've talked to find something about it they don't like: dealer's too far away, it burns premium fuel, too small...

 

I've convinced at least 3 people to buy Audis. Driving my sister's MINI convinced me to buy my MINI. But I don't think I'll be able to convince many others to buy a MINI. To most people, the MINI seems to be kind of a frivolous thing... like buying a motorcycle, which is my real passion.

 

MY WIFE!!!

Just told her how cool it is to drive one of these. Plus, the base model MC costs around 70,000 USD in China after all import tax & fees, so It was kinda her dream car when she had a VW POLO back home.

Now I am working on convincing 2nd person: MY WIFE!!!

She has to get the idea that a new 2nd car for me isn't all that bad.... R56 that is. Infiniti FX35 + mazda can become Infiniti + R56+ very happy man for her!

Well, not a winning situation for me now...

 

well my cousin is in a dealer in Brookline Massachusets, basically boston, but a year from now he'll have enough contacts to probably get something done

WOW I never realized how expensive it was for cars in china, thats amazing, you must really really want one

 

Cars in general isn't to bad in China.
Here are couple examples:

MB E class: 60K USD
BMW 5 series : 60K USD
Audi A6: 50K / A4: 40K USD
VW Jetta: 20K USD
Honda Accord: 25K USD
.......
Now, these are HOME MADE by their factory facilities in China, hence the reasonable prices. We have some super cheapy ones, a friend of mine has a little car much smaller than MINI, it only cost him 3500 USD brand new.

When someone wants an imported car, gov. knows they are filthy rich, then they get special treatment of 140% ~ 200% import tax.
My Infiniti FX35 has a price tag of 115,000USD in China, comparing to 45,000 in states.

 

wow thats crazy, how much a Infinity costs, thats so ridiculous, i thought they made em in japan, why would it cost them to ship so much when its not that far away
