R50/53 Good deal?
Good deal?
Hey everyone, I'm a new owner of a 2006 Cooper S with the Rallye package.
I paid $30,500 w/o taxes.. I ended up getting $3500 off the MSRP plus they threw in the Mini Checkpoint plan.. I thought we got a good deal, I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks. Oh and the prices are in Canadian.

Checkpoint not Checkmate. Checkmate was 06...
The Rallye package is Canadian only I guess. My dealer told me that the rallye is pretty much the premium and sport packages with a few extra options (HK sound system, flame spoke wheels, rain sensor). The checkpoint is a 3 year/ 60,000 km servicing plan ($615 value).
Based on what others are posting elsewhere, it seems that $3500 off MSRP on a 2006 is a very good deal -- I'm not sure many dealers are offering discounts that large.
So, you can sleep well at night and enjoy your car -- welcome to MINI ownership.
(With the $3500 you saved off MSRP, you can now start feeding the after-market-mod-monster)
