Okay, 16,000 miles in 10 months. 6 dealer visits so far. One annoying sunroof rattle that has not been properly addressed though Universal MINI has tried. They have replaced everything from the cassette to installing the soft sided velcro to inserting foam (??). I am now in contact with MINI Corporate and we are discussing "things".

My question to MCO is this... How many of you '02 MCS owners out there still have the sunroof rattle? This is the one that eminates from the sunroof switch area. I am trying to get a feel for how large this issue is for MINIUSA. Thanks for your feedback.

Mine was fixed when I put the soft side of velco tape on the rear facing side of the sunroof flaps.

My dealer tried a couple times to eliminate the issue but nothing worked until the velcro.

Our dealer - Sterling MINI - was able to fix the sunroof rattle when the velcro was put on. That was about 8 months ago - our MINI will be 1 year old tomorrow. No rattles since

Chow!

Hey Blue,
I'm afraid I have the same annoyance. I took the car in to have it "fixed", but the rattle seems even worse. It's the worst when the temperature drops below 40.

My rattles are anytime the air temp is below 70. It's 80+ here in So.Cal today and viola. no rattle...

We'll see what MINIUSA says... waiting on Local factory rep to see the car.

Hey D, Been there, had that done too... from your other posts, I know you have an objection to the drone sound some cat-backs exhibit. For me, it's rattles esp. when they are a constant. I do enjoy reading your posts, usually entertaining. Thanks for your input here!

02 MCS...had sunroof rattle, completely fixed by dealer, rattle free now...also had rear hatch rattle, dash rattle, broken seat frames on both driver and passenger seats, blown air compressor, defective run flat (all since replaced with yokos), blown supercharger, defective driver side window that was loose....other than that no problems at all.......all fixed and now have a hybrid 02/03....lol!

wonder why dealer can't fix your sunroof rattle???

Miniblues... Can't be fixed because I think mine is from a mis-aligned sunroof part between the headliner and the cassette. I too have had the rear hatch rattle, seatback spring rattle, dash rattle, passenger door rattle and now have a shift **** rattle that needs addressing. Fortunately nothing mechanical like you... except I am on my third coolant overflow tank.

I am now waiting to meet with the local corporate service rep in early June...

Good Luck with your 0203
