2002 Value and Leather Question
 

I am looking at this 2002 on which was on fleabay, has expired but is still available.

Does anyone have experience with this seller?
What is a fair value of this vehicle?
Is this leather or leatherette?
Where are the seat heater controls located. I have asked about option this car has and do not get detailed answers. If I know the location, I may be able to tell from the pics.
What is the value of the Aero Package that this one seems to have.
Any other thoughts on this one?
Thank you in advance and let me know if I should have posted this somewhere else. I have been lookin for a while and this one is about 4 hours away and would be able to go this weekend and inspect in person if all else checks out.

You can call MINI (see website) and give them the VIN. They can give you the specs it came with.

The picture that shows the Shifter also shows the control knob for the rearview mirrors in the middle and the buttons on each side are for the heated seats. Absolutely needed today. -8 on my way to work this morning.

FWIW. From looking at other posts, most members think that some packages are worth very little, if anything at all. These cars may also have been driven harder.

The best thing is thing to do is:
for the time being, some things that jump out in case they matter to you:
As noted, it has heated seats
No H/K sound system
No sports package -- no DSC, Xenon, fog lights (although it has the rear fog), etc. . .
You probably also live in area with snow, so you may not care about this, but the rust in the center nuts of those wheels seems to show that this car has indeed seen its fair share of road salt. I would do a careful inspection of the underside.

Just some first impressions.

Seats are leatherette and heated
Doesn't have aero kit

Not sure about the price, best to check what they are going for in your area. Seems a bit high for an '02 with only premium and CW packages. It was ~$22K new

2002 mcs had no rear fog light....
that is the reverse light :wink:
Could possibly have leather, sunroof was part of the "Premium Package" which included leather (although sunroof could have been purchases a la carte.
Best thing to do as mentioned earlier is to email MINI usa with the VIN..Hope this helps..
