My burble-pop has vanished

After listening to the burble and pops from Minis flying down the backside of Sandia Peak during MTTS, and reading about it so much, I was delighted last month when my car suddenly developed its loud pop-sound at 8000 miles. The more spirited my shifting/accelleration around 1/2/3rd gear, the louder the pop sound that I could hear at the back of the car. Sometimes it would do it 2 or 3 times, maybe half a second apart.

Then I noticed that the lanyards that raise the luggage-privacy shield when the boot opens were not looped around their anchor-points on the door. So the rubber weights that normally hug the bottom of the privacy shield were hanging into the boot and banging around. I re-connected everything and now I have no pop.

By a Miltek exhaust and never worry the Burble noise will always be there! Such a sweet sound!

Nice sounding exhaust

I have installed both Milltek and Magnaflow exhausts on my MCS's. the Miltek exhaust is the nicest sounding. Look at Stratosphere for your buying needs.

Bringing back a thread from the dead :O

Does fitting a Milltek system to a pre-04 R53 add pop and burble then? Im buying an r53, and WILL be on a quest for pop and burble, and will do whatever it takes to get it! (one of the prime candidates to buy at this point is an 03).

I've a '03 MCS with the Miltek header and cat-back. Installed both at the same time so I can't say just the cat-back will give you the burble/pop.

If I remember correctly the burble/pop was always there on mine but muted by the stock exhaust.
