Have you lived out any of the MINI tag lines yet?

Well, its finally happened... You know the tag line "Let's run out someplace new for milk next time."? It wasn't milk... but close enough!

I drove the next town over to buy gas... even though there are plenty in my town... there isn't a Shell gas station, so I drove the 4 miles (passing by other gas stations as I went) over to the next town, just to get gas... and get in some more motoring.

Have any of you lived up to any of the tag lines in the MINI pamphlet??

Tag lines:
Let's master the asphalt arts.
Let's hug the corner.
Let's kiss the corner.
Heck, let's marry the corner.
Let's heel and toe shift.
Let's make graceful lane changes.
Let's create our own techniques.
Let's teach them to one another.
Let's turn right when we should turn left.
Let's motor outside the rut.
Let's do what we'd like to do. Not what we're used to.
Let's explore back roads.
Let's keep in mind the moment before Columbus discovered American, he was "lost".
Let's forget all our assumptions about cars.
Let's motor in a street legal go-kart.
Let's broaden our wheelbase.
Let's lower our center of gravity.
Let's give it race-proven suspension.
Let's turn left. Let's turn right.
Let's turn every which way but back.
Let's be the bigger car.
Let's use the HOV lane when we're an HOV.
Let's put away the middle finger.
Let's let people in.
Let's pay a strangers toll.
Let's volunteer jumper cables.
Let's come to the rescue.
Let's go from Bored, AZ to Utopia, CA.
Let's go from Melancholy, TN to Paradise, WI.
Let's go from Despair, FL to Bliss, FL.
Let's pack first and ask directions later.
Let's remember idle wheels are the devil's workshop.
Let's not be back in 10 minutes. Or 15. Or 20.
Let's run out to someplace new for milk next time.
Let's deliver our own mail.
Let's find shortcuts.
Let's follow that cab.
Let's do an extra lap around the block.
Let's play tourist in our own neighborhood.
Let's break routines. But not make a routine of it.
Let's see red lights as a chance to start over.
Let's put the horses to work.
Let's adopt a twisty highway.
Let's show the crow how to fly.
Let's pull some serious G's.
Let's treat straight-ways as the calm before the storm.
Let's go the distance.
Let's put our cars to use.
Let's always offer to drive.
Let's think the odometer is a photo album.
Let's remain modest if its thicker than a friends.
Let's rack up miles. Let's rack up stories.
Let's rack up life.

Good grief...you sound just like me. Our town has a Walmart...BUT I have to drive a good 23 miles to another Walmart...because of the fun curvy roads. ANY EXCUSE to drive my mini is a GOOD EXCUSE!!

I got in an accident... and drove across the country to get her painted.... (2500 miles or so)

Does that count?

I'm not sure there are any I haven't lived yet. (and I really do need the "does not brake for corners" sign/bumper decal, I've nearly lost a few followers who didn't realize they needed to brake)

That should encourage them to get a MINI then!

It seems that every time I go out, I tend to find the "long way home". Heck, I drive an extra 15 miles each time to get fuel - but that's because it's out to the next county so I can buy non-reformulated (does that still count).

The wife and I go out early each Saturday or Sunday morning and try to get lost on some unfamiliar country roads...we always seem to find our way back, but I swear I've heard the banjo tune from Deliverance wafting along on the breeze a couple of times out there in the boonies

When I was in FL I had it worked out I could travel 45 miles each way for gas and still have it be out of county $3-$4 more cost effective than going down to the corner station.

On Monday morning I decided to take my Mini out for a ride, got on the I-25 where they have 75 mph speed limits. A great ride; went from Denver, CO to WY. It was a much enjoyed ride. What can I say, I needed milk? And everyone knows, they have better cows in WY. Did I mention no one stays at 75mph.

Well I've "Let's Put Away the Middle Finger" for sure...really anything relating to courtesy for fellow motorers. I want people to love MINIs not hate them and so I play very fair when I'm on the roads. People really do appreciate it...hopefully they'll feel like doing a good turn to someone else in return.

"Let's Master the Asphalt Arts" was an early tag line that stuck with me, and I'm definitely "on" when I'm motoring and, even though I'm driving on normal neighborhood roads, I'm very precise and deliberate about it. No slackin' here!!!

oooo... i read those and got all excited--
"Let's kiss the corner."--Vermont has some lovely roads in the mts where you can hit ~70mph around some turns
Let's keep in mind the moment before Columbus discovered American, he was "lost".--any roadtrip should include backroads where you map your route from the atlas in the backseat!!!
"Let's let people in."--always do!!! even when the 18wheelers dont... helloooooo???

"Let's rack up miles. Let's rack up stories."--now that is going to have to be one to accomplish over many, many mods, years, and people--i'm game !

"Let's always offer to drive." - That one is definitely me! And with two cross-country road trips, and a week at the dragon, I'm sure some of those others apply!

New new year's resolution: check 'em all off! In nearly two years of Motoring (with a capital "M") I've made some pretty good inroads. Especially the one about the odometer being a "smileodometer" or "experience-o-meter"!

Roadtrips should include this? Heck, it's the basis for just about all of mine

I don't know about the official taglines (though I do let people in), but I did literally change lanes due to sneezing on my way to buy face wash this morning (75 miles away).

after Christmas shopping at the outlet stores in Camarillo ,CA can be alot of fun when you drive back to L.A. via highway 1, going through Malibu and watching the sunset... this scenic route with the top down and taking in all the ocean scents, seeing kids wave to me and watching adults give that smiley grin nodding their heads up and down thinking 'that's California Cool". Thank You my MINI what a nice after Christmas present to me....km

I think some of those tag-lines were gleaned from threads right here on NAM! I've lived out most of them in my 10 cross-country jaunts.

I can't drive any other way but heel-toe. The mini's pedals are perfect for it.
