Sorry , I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm sorta new around here & hope someone here could help me out with this.

 

The Owners' Manual calls for 72 ft-lb (100 Nm), and in older threads you may find discussions showing at least three different numbers (the 'official' workshop tool for MINI dealer's calls for 110 Nm ... go figure ...)

1st Thanks for the Welcome 8ball. Now here's another quest. , if I put 80 lbs. on the bolts should I go loosen them & re-do them at 72 lbs or is this probably safe / O.K. ?

 

Please don't get your attorney involved, but i think that should be fine for relatively robust factory or factory-option rims ... there may be a problem for some after-market, lightwight rims - cracking or warping or stuff like that ...

 

I use the 110Nm figure.

When I was getting my Konig wheels and Yoko tires put on, the tire shop's wheel torque chart showed 103. Wonder what's up with all the differences in torque settings?
