Roof rack noise

Does anyone have a roof rack with a wind fairing attached to reduce the wind noise? I want to make sure the Yakima or Tule(sp?) fairings fit the OEM MINI rack system.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you still have the rubber strips attached to the cross bars, it gets a lot quieter if you remove them.

I don't even notice any additional sound with the rack on, but I've had it on for over 3 years now.

Ditto what Yucca said - remove the rubber strips...

I run a Thule rack with Rocky Mount bike trays, no fairing, and it's about the quietest roofrack I've ever had. Of course there is some noise, but no howl like I've had before without a fairing. Unscientifically, I think the square bars of Thule and OEM racks are quieter than Yakima round ones.

I should have mentioned; we have a OEM luggage rack attached to the roof rack. Is this causing the howling sound? Can a fairing help?
