MCS have you max your "S"

Today I got a bit crazy with my MCSca. I was driving in a curvy 3 lane freeway in LA area... I was going fast, taking the 40 mph curves at around .???.. Then zooooommm to the right of me went a Porsche 911 Turbo ,that car made my MCS looked like I was standing still..So my question is,what are these cars capable of... in terms of speeds with how safe is it at what speeds do you really feel un-safe of out of control? km

BTW those suggested speed placards are generally calculated to produce 0.16g. Double the suggested speed is only 0.64g so a well-driven Geo Metro should also pass you like you were standing still. Needless to say driving fast enough to feel "unsafe or out of control" is never recommended but a driving school can teach you what control is.

Take it to the track - you have no idea at all what your car is capable of until you do so

0.16, huh?

I often wondered how they came up with those speed numbers. My theory was that they took a drunk in a jacked up Suburban and had him go around a curve of similar radius on a test track with 4 flat tires and an overfilled cup of scalding coffee balanced on the dash; determined the max speed HE could do it, then cut it in half!

Seriously, I think it varies by state. Georgia is MUCH lower in their curve speeds than Tennessee in my experience.

PS The original poster has a valid discussion topic, he needs to edit his post to remove any hint of violating the speed limit, and MAYBE we could discuss it without being locked out.

Me too!

Like previously stated, you'll only know (and safely finding out) what too far is with a good driving school session. Plus you'll learn all kinds of things for motoring day to day.
