That's odd. I did too, and I have the same results. Maybe that extra horsepower you get out of an aftermarket **** just isn't worth suffering the "cold ****".

**** Crap

The knitted **** sock is kool Twister (no pun intended) . You get the benifit of the extra HP without the risk of your hand freezing to the ****. Who says you can have too much crap on your MINI?

Thinking about a Whalen and was wondering two things in addition to the "cold in the winter" characteristic :

Does it also get super hot in the summer?

Is a great looking, hefty shift **** really worth the $$ ?

My old Miata OEM shift **** was heavily weighted mostly to cut down on vibration, but the OEM MINI **** has little to no vibration to start with.

It does look faster.

Sure it does, and adds 1.2 HP also.

If heat is a concern, you can always go with the "cooling fins" option.

I'm kidding; this was something that I whipped up on a day when I was a bit bored.
Cutting up the ball takes too much time to make it a marketable item; but it IS a bit different, don't you think?

Metal shift ***** are too hot in the summer sun and too cold in the winter.

Besides moving too a climate with both mild summers and winters,

Check out the various golf club socks/covers. They come in many different patterns and types and work just fine on any **** to keep it protected from the elements.

Any **** material made out of something that doesn't warm or cool off too quick would be helpful or even a combination of materials.

My momo **** is carbonfiber with chrome trim. Works fine but we have no winter and summer is 75 to 88 degrees.

I'm feeling a little left out. My MA didn't tell me that by purchasing my MINI, I would also have an interchangeable ****.

On my Mazdaspeed Protege I had a roundie **** - in orange leather bottom with an aluminum top - and it got COLD. I cut a keyhole-shaped hole in the bottom of a tennis ball and viola`, shift **** koozie. Worked great and when it got dirty another tennis ball was close at hand. The rubber inside kept it from slipping (much) and the custom wool outer was warm and fuzzy. Multiple colors available, etc.

I have the stock **** on my MCS and haven't tried the tennis ball thing yet.

Mine's a pool ball... It's cold in the winter but not too bad at all, and it's just a bit warm, even on a hot summer day. PLus, it looks great IMHO:

It's interesting that the **** cover actually resembles a ball sack.

What were we talking about?
