Why'd you buy a MINI?

The thing that stuck out to me about the mini was the style. The fact that it was so different from other cars.

I bought it because my wife found it in the annual Consumer Reports roundup of cars ... saw how small it was and said ... go buy it. And so we did.

Quick and fun to drive 4-seaters, lots of cool factor, uniqueness, lots of options and accessories to play with, good resale value, within my price range, my co-workers love it, my friends love it, my son love it, my daughter love it and my wife love it .

Well I read the stats in autoweek just after the whole Millenium thing, I was hooked, thenI watched the Italian job, soley to see the MINIs; then I read more about it in various online reviews and read the most satisfying Autoweek longterm test report, then I needed a new car, test drove this compared to several others, and well after a month of not being abole to shut up about stest driving the MINI I went back to the dealer and walked otu keys in hand

I trade cars every two-three years and it was time. I go back and forth between something more luxurious/practical and something sporty/fun. I got rid of an Acura RL and got the Mini.

If I keep the MINI until September next year, that will make three years. I've already started looking for something else. Haven't seen anything that grabbed me yet.

My Wife and I watched Italian job on paid pre. view one saturday night, and she loved the car and thought it was just the cuties thing she had ever seen, so about a year later when we needed a car we got one. I'm going to get mine in the next month or so because she told me there was no limit to what i could do to a mini. That plus the support system for moding these cars is like nothing i have ever seen. it just seems like an easy call.

Because when my brother-in-law, (who was the original owner of a '67 Austin MINI S), told me BMW was bringing back a new MINI to the States and showed me the MINIUSA.com website on Christmas Day, 2001, I was instantly smitten! I loved the design, the specs, the safety engineered into it. It was the first car to thrill me in many years and I knew I would have one ASAP, which I did in August 2002!

It's the first car I've driven that I REALLy enjoyed driving. Usually I was happy in the passenger seat snoozing away.... now I do the driving. I liked it fro the first time I drove one.

I love cute cars, I love unique cars, I love cars that you can play with and are fun to drive... right of the box or modded out these fit the bill. Same with Moe's predicesors --Jeep Wrangler and BMW Z3-- way fun to personalize and sky's the limit on what you can do with them. When the warranty ran out on the Z it was time to get my MINI, which was already "next in line" a year or so after the Z was purchased...thinking I might just keep this one!

I'm a total MINI addict, the car just speaks to me! It was love at first sight. I saw a Classic Mini in Paris in 2000 and found out they were being redone by BMW, the rest is history.....

At almost 6' 5" tall I have always been obsessed with small cars. I owned 5 classics at one point in my life and just recently sold a '73 Austin Mini, so I had to get a new one. Don't get it twisted however. I wasn't a fan of the new MINI when it first came out. I though BMW bullying British garage owners over using the name Mini in their companies name was childish. It took me a few years to actually take a liking to the new MINI.

Because it's the only car that will fit in the last spot in my garage.

I was looking for a "small" car. The MINI seemed the perfect style for me...and it was within my price range.

WHY i BOUGHT A MINI

I bought a mini because I have a 65 origional S that was a race car that I have driven on the street. I am currently getting it back to total street legal. It has a richard longman prepared engine and the chassis is race prepared with full roll cage and nothing else in the interior. Car weighs 1300 lbs .and has over 110 hp. much fun to drive

- better handling
- more power
- last year for the brazilian supercharged engine
- JCW was a factory option

and I never did like the civic... always lacked stopping power... and go power.

'06 JCW... picking it up this week... finally, I will know what "go-kart" handling is all about.

I had almost bought one on two other occasions. I recently got rid of a Porsche Boxster which was OK but I never drove it. I was looking for another car to drive on weekends and almost bought a used MB CL600 (could have gotten a great deal on it). My wife and I were in Charleston, SC and happened to stop by the MINI dealership. There it was. A few minutes later we left with it. Much more fun to drive than the Porsche. Much more practical than the MB.

I first saw the MINI at the Detroit Auto Show and was very impressed mostly by how roomy the interior was for such a small car. The more I read about it the more impressed I became until I had to have one It was hard to wait until the 2003's came out but I did, buying my MC in October of 2002. Put 69000 miles on it until the CVT started acting hinky when I bought my 06 MCS last month. Still keepin the faith and enjoying the ride.

I used to drive a '67 VW beetle that I loved. The body was awesome but it lacked speed and safety. When the new beetle came out I test drove one and hated it. Then I drove a BMW M3 - loved its speed but missed the "cute" beetle body.

When the MINI came out, I was smitten. I saved my pennies and found the perfect vehicle MINI Cooper S JCW with both looks, safety and speed. I couldn't be happier. LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I've never been a "car person", but the MINI's style and fun just grabbed me. For a few years, I didn't even check it out, though, because I thought I couldn't afford a car made by BMW. But when I finally did check pricing, I found it to be affordable. I'm a mom with four kids and the youngest just started college, so I decided it was time to turn in my minivan for a more fun MINI So glad I made the choice. My MINI turned 1 year old Friday and I still can't believe it's mine!

The Mini drives like my previous favorite car (1991 SCCA SSB GTI 16v w/ Konis, Quaife, BBS, Recaros, cage, and performance rubber), but without the tradeoffs in NVH, reliability and comfort. It makes me laugh out loud to drive it.

Why MINI?

When my Audi S4 came off lease, I needed to cut my monthly auto expense in half. What a coup! When in life can one have twice as much fun with a toy that costs half as much?

And... when in life can a toy also be a daily driver that hauls groceries, children, equipment, etc.?
