Couldn't Do It!

I have had a run of poor luck with my 05 MCS so I decided to sell it. The buyer was nice man who has an original MINI and several other interesting cars. We met at the bank this morning to do the transaction but I got real emotional and could not sell the car. I feel great! RR

Sorry about your bad luck...but YIPPEEEEE that you couldn't do it!!!

I hope things get better.

Jeremy1026 Sep 20, 2006 11:11 AM

way to tough it out. i bet your MINI will reward you and stop asking to goto the doctor (dealer)

kenchan Sep 20, 2006 11:18 AM

 im glad to hear you kept your ride. :)

you know what, every car will always have some quirks here and there.

    RR, you are bonkers, man! I know because I did basically the same thing myself!!   Hope your issues get sorted, because once they do you'll never get rid of that MINI!!!

I'm glad to hear you're giving your MINI a second chance. I really hope you have fewer problems.

MINIs are just so gosh darn lovable!

The best part about this car is simply how it makes me feel. That may sound corny and I can't believe I just wrote that but it is true. Most of the issues have been or soon will be resolved. My 12 year old said me to me last night, he could not believe I was selling the car because of how much fun I am always telling him I have with it.

I've done the same thing twice with my 1994 Land Rover Defender 90. Now I know that I will simply never sell it for any reason or amount of money.

I know how you feel!

How did the buyer take the news?

rrudorf Sep 20, 2006 12:24 PM

The buyer understood real well, he had a similar experience while trying to sell a Norton motorcycle back in the 70's

My cousin is in love with my mini and I know that he'd buy mine in a heart beat if I sold it but that same thing would happen to me I could NOT sell it for anything in the world I love it!!!!

I'm having the same trouble letting go of my E46 BMW M3. It's red, fast as h#ll, and I don't wanna let it go. I have a buyer meeting me tonight.

I may just have to console myself by getting another works mini. :D

Sold my 1995...best and worst car day of my life...but I actually let it go.

Now I want it back...not any 1995 D90...MY 1995 D90.

Glad you kept yours...

HighSchoolzMINI Sep 22, 2006 08:52 PM

glad your MINI decided to keep itself with you

Crashton Sep 23, 2006 07:49 AM

I'm glad that you kept your MCS. Good move.

I do wonder what the buyer said when you backed out of the deal to sell at the last minute?

rrudorf Sep 23, 2006 08:09 AM

i spoke with the buyer last night; he went over to Motor City MINI and bought a BRG MCS from stock. Everybody wins.

RR

Crashton Sep 23, 2006 01:16 PM

I'm glad he got his MINI too. Win, win.

Aaawwww. I think that's wonderful that you couldn't go through with it. The world needs more tender-hearted, loyal folks like you. Congrats to both you AND your MINI.

close call....

I'd feel the same about my dad's 1970 VW Bug. I gave to my brother. He's kept ever since. I don't think we'll ever sell it. I may feel the same about my MINI (as soon as I get it of course). I don't think I could sell this '06 with a silver roof, and it's my first MINI.
