Driver's Seat Creak/Clicking

I searched and found this thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ght=seat+creak

but it isn't exactly what is happening for me....

About two weeks ago my driver's seat starting clicking or creaking when my weight shifts front to back or back to front. The sound comes from the seat bottom and looks like there is some play in the seat rails or thereabouts.

Well, I tried the lowering and raising the seat to see if it would stop, it didn't. I tried all the adjustments and nothing fixed it.

Today when I went into the dealer, an hour away, for a mid-service schedule oil change, I had them try to fix the problem. They told me it was normal! Hmmm...1.5 years of ownership...the problem just started and it's normal. I tried other Mini's there...none of them did it. I told the SA that it isn't normal. Well, after going out to the service area and my Mini several times and having two techs and forman look at the problem, they agreed to replace the seat rails under warranty. This is good and then again...maybe not. The inconvenience is that the dealer is an hour away and I have to go back for the work and wait half the day. The other thing is...will it fix it. They said that lubing it was not necessary nor would it fix it.

Anyone else have this problem?!!!

Are the seat rails just failing? I am 165 lbs....and fit right in the seat....not heavy by my standards....I only have 18500 miles on the car....so it's pretty new.

Info or thoughts anyone?

Thanks!
