Thanks for the compliment on the MINI, I love this silver top/stripe combo on every car I have seen with it.

300 miles found MC2 Issue#4
I finally found the MC2 Issue #4 at Barnes and Noble in Emeryville (near Oakland, CA). 300 miles away from home and I finally found it!
I'm spending sometime in Nor Cal this weekend and I must say that I counted about 20 Minis total on Saturday, it's like Mini Nation up in here! Woot Woot! I also saw a Gold one that looked pretty nice. Way to represent Nor Cal!

So much for private e-mails between neighbors...I stand by my less than flattering, slightly out of context remark...
"Not every MINI owner is a MINIac, but Every MINIac reads MC2!"
Jango made it in issue #4! Well... it helps that I took the picture! :P
He' s the PW/PW/PW MCS in the front of the line at the top of the Dragon 2006 article... page 49 if I remember correctly... right next to the dragon cartoon.

MC2 needs help from the Grammar Police.
Last night my SO pulled this MC2 article off the Dinan website: http://www.dinancars.com/RoadTestPreview.asp?ID=68
We sat in bed, read it, and couldn't contain both our laughter and dismay. The number of misspelled words is appalling. I don't know if the posted article is the final copy or not; but if it is, the editor should feel embarrassed. Seriously, it's so sloppy it loses credibility. If MC2 needs to hire a proofreader, I'm sure any of the regulars in the Grammar Police thread could do it. Of course no one is perfect, but the mess in the link above goes far beyond one or two typos; and if just one more person had read it over one more time, I'm sure they would've been caught.
The punctuation, however, is fine.

Agreed - A proof reader would be good.
Of interesting note however - in the JCW/Dinan comparison.. there was a lack of mention of even acknowledgement about the existance of the JCW suspension. I agree the Dinan offering is excellent, but the article made it sound like there was no option from JCW.

Also agree with the typo stuff. It hasn't gotten any better. And I have seen weird punctuation-from missing completely to just wrong. Commas where there should be none and vice versa. Love the content anyway tho.
They blew fact checking too... They attributed my photo of a long line of MINIs to something like "MINIs waiting to take their turn on the Dragon" when we were half-way around the Smoky Mountains on a scenic drive.
I love the magazine, but they are still shaking out a few bugs.
Keep it up guys! We love ya!

Issue 4 has some rushing involved....
Gary got word that he could go to test the 07 with less than a week of lead time, and the issue was also delayed a week from going to the presses to get all the last minute stuff in. There were also some behinds the scenes stuff with add placement to make vendors happy, and all this came down in the weeks that we're all usually getting headaches looking for typos!
And I'm really surpised that none had mentioned the biggest typo there is!
