R50/53 If you can do if all over again...
I realized after driving my 04 for two years that there were options that I would do differently. My 06 has way less from the factory and way more in the pimp my ride department. That's what is so great about the resale!!!!!
Currently have:
- PW/B
- Sport, cold, premium
- Anthracite dash, space cloth
- Auto dimming rear view mirror, center armrest, rear fog
- Navigation
- H/K stereo
- R99
Exterior changes:
- Maybe PW/PW
- Aero kit for sure!
- No bonnet strips
- Clear bra
Interior changes:
- Anthracite headliner
- Tartan Red cloth/leather seats
- No navigation - chrono pack instead

THe harmon kardon today, with a david bowie cd in the showroom, fudded out the bass and I do NOT listen to music loud at all. Bass levels were at the 0 mark, neither plus no minus.
It sounds like it needs an amp but doesnt have it so it can go muddy. I truthfully think that if its a budget issue, go stock and go then, once you have cash, replace the system with something after market. At least keep the deck part and put a inexpensive amp and swap speakers with entry level speakers from some place liek best buy. Very little money is needed to make a stereo sound really nice.
I dont even have my production number yet.....

I went the budget route with my 04 MCS and am nothing but happy with it. Looking back now, I'd spend a few more bucks to get:
MFSW (so I could have cruise control)
I continually go through phases about what color I would get. My current thought is that body-color roofs are cool. Maybe CR/CR or DS/DS instead of my PW/B. Or, if I were getting an 06, HB/HB with painted trim.
Bottom line is - there's no wrong way to spec a MINI. The basic package is awesome, anything else is gilding the lily.

Well, being as I bought my 02 mc used, I had no choice on the options, but it came fairly well equipped.
02 cr/w MC
-Heated Leather
-Sport plus spension
-ASC
-16 inch 5 spoke rims(SWEET)
-Chrome exterior
If I had the choice, then it would be different.
06 HB/W MCor MCS, either would be cool.
-Heated leather
-DSC
-LSD
-Sunroof
-Sport Package
-Aero kit.
