My service advisor made me a gift...

Hi motorers!

First, here's the story...

I got my MINI in for a broken shifter bushing and cables 2 weeks ago @ Lauderdale MINI.

They messed with the parts orders... twice. So for a 4 hours job, they had to keep my car for 2 weeks.

My service advisor told me he would give me a discount for the errors... He made his best to get a discount on the labor : 100$/hour instead of 118$/hr.

But when I went to pick-up my car, Lamont (my service advisor) told me to go to the cashier and see him before leaving...

He had some gifts for me :

A MINI bag

A ///M shirt

a MINI Beanie Knit Hat With Headphones

I was really amazed and couldn't believe a service advisor would do this. He's really a nice guy and takes care of its customers.

Since my MINI is not covered by the warranty, he also loan me a car for the 2nd week.

So, 2 thumbs up for Lamont @ Lauderdale MINI !!!

I moved to Miami not a long time ago, but I've been to Miami with my MINI 3 times before that, and went to Lauderdale MINI every time. Once for a service, once for a overheating problem (blown radiator fans) and once jsut to say hello lol

to Lauderdale MINI and Lamont!

I also got a nice gift a month ago...

I did a boost gauge install for a MINI friend, Kent.

So at a MINI meet, he gave me a really nice Whalen shifter he ordered for me... What a nice gift!!!

It's just a few novelty items, send him a thank-you note or something if you wish, but really now, you don't have to ask him out to dinner or anything...

That is good, though, that he took responsibility for his screw-up(s) and threw in some nice items. From what I've heard, not every dealer will make that sort of gesture. Glad it worked out in the end!

BTW: The title of the thread indicates that he made you the gifts. Did he knit the beanie himself? 'Cause that would be a little weird... I know we're supposed to be close with our dealers and all, but that's just going too far man.

I think that was nice thing your SA did for you. But 2 weeks waiting for parts. That's just unbelievable & unacceptable. Hasn't your SA or his parts person heard of overnighting a part? You might want to fill him in on the procedure.

Great customer service. Little stuff like that goes a long way toward building customer satisfaction and referrals.

Just how does waiting two weeks for parts get considered great customer service? Little stuff like waiting two weeks for your car does not build satisfaction.

That sucks that you had to wait for 2 weeks to get your car fixed, but atleast you got some kind of a discount on the labor and some swag.

Gilman.

It's a BMW thing... you know, like M3. The ///M logo designates their motorsports division.
