What's the difference in headlights?

My car has Xenon lights in it. I thought the silver cone shaped thing that you see inside the headlight housing was for xenons...... but my lights dont have that thing inside them.
I think there may be an option available that makes the headlights "auto level"...... maybe that's it.

Thanks for any info
Donald

Depends on the year. The pre '05 have a little thing that says 'Xenon' on it. It's just bling, it doesn't do anything. The auto level system is not visible.
The new ones have the 'star trek phaser' looking projectors, whereas the older ones have the xenon tag and auto washers. IIRC, otherwise they look the same as the halogens.
What year is your car?

Donald,

In the USA if you order factory Xenons they have to come with auto-leveling and washers. Thank your DOT for that.

Eric got the rest correct, it changed from '02,'03,'04 were the same. '05 &'06 have the 'star trek phaser' looking things.

Ok thanks,
My MCS is an '04 which explains the lack of the "star trek cone".

Thanks
Donald
