Scratch is no good

Bad news Long story short, I got a scratch in my drivers side door. The scratch only penetrated the clear coat, about 3 in long, not too happy. Anyone know much about getting that scratch to go away, I'm not looking to replace the door of course, but something that would help it go away, I hate looking at it. Oh the car is only a month old too. Please help.

i would first try 6-7 applications of Meguiar's ScratchX. use a old t-shirt
or cotton terry to apply and elbow grease.

From: A street address or space indexing system.
If that doesnt work, you could use some mild polishing compound.

Then a few coats of ScratchX or NuFinish scratch remover.

dual action polisher... this will work far better than any hand solution.

Grioto's (I think that is how it's spelled) has a wonderful line of products.

I had a pretty bad scratch on my boot that I did not put there (long story). Anyway, it was more than ScratchX could handle and I don't have the proper tools to take it beyond that. I went by a very good neighborhood body shop and they took it out completely in about 10 minutes!! They said they had to "work it pretty hard" but it did come out!!! In what I believe to be a freak occurance, they did not even charge me.

Check out this related thread

Check this video clip out on using ScratchX
http://www.showcargarage.com/forums/...read.php?t=138

It's from the detailing video in the NAM store.

If that doesn't work, then contact a reputable detailer who can buff out scratches. It should cost very much at all.

Thanks a lot gentlemen for helping me out , let you know how it goes this weekend, it's not too deep, so hopefully it'll come out fairly easily.
