Open the door and look for a sticker on the door frame/sill that has production date on it.

Open the drivers door and there is a plate that has the build date.

If your crazy like the lot of us, you were probably tracking it everyday before it came...

Actually I walked in and found my baby just sittin there. Fell in love, paid cash and drove it home with my old car left behind at the lot.

Me too. Went to Westchester MINI because I heard they had some last May. And there it was. Wrote a check and here we are. It has only gotten better.

Wow, you must have gotten one of the first!

What happens if you go to the Owners Lounge and enter your VIN number? This is how most of us tracked our cars through the build process...I wonder what happens if you register and use a VIN number from a car that was built some time ago. Might be worth a try.

I should add that if this DOES work, then you'll end up seeing a build date that will almost certainly be a Friday. All build dates are (or at least used to be) Fridays as this is the only day the system is updated. You will therefore be able to find your build "week", but not the actual day.

One more thing to try is to go over to MINI2 and search for a thread where someone has decyphered the code in the VIN numbers. Maybe there's something there that tells you the day. Decyphering VIN numbers is just the sort of techie thing that MINI2 folks excel at.
