Well, I have #565 and that badge won't work for me!  Proud owner since June of 2004.

I have noticed the removing of stickers too!:sly: I think the VIN will protect the future collectibility of the MC40 (if it becomes collectible or classic). Just like someone who actually owns a factory limited muscle car as opposed to "making" one. (At least I hope so!   )

There is one for sale here in central , lL - I can get the number if you want?

second to none 01-25-2008 05:57 PM

I dont think theres anything about the mc40 in the vin #
I dont know what number mine is either, I got it missing the front mc40 floor mats and the plaque.
I replaced the stickers with new ones from Mini, and I will never go without.

floor mats

I'm a new MC40 owner (#646) and I bought mine with no floor mats or side magnets. Does anyone have a photo of the special floor mats? And does anyone know where I can get the side 37 magnets and the mats? My Mini dealer is having a hard time finding them. Thanks! I'm so excited to have my new Mini!

proudpom 02-16-2008 06:46 PM

never mind...

...I found the rubber MC40 mats - now I just need the "37" side magnets... Anyone have any for sale or know where I can find them? I want these pretty badly.
I've had my MC40 less than a week and I LOVE IT! I could never go back to a boring car!

Switch For Aux Lights on MC40???

Greetings!

A friend of mine just bought a beautiful MC40 MINI Cooper 'S'. I haven't got to see it up close yet. He talked to me on the phone last night and asked me if I knew where the switch was located for the Auxillary lights mounted on the front. Can someone solve the mystery before I drop by to see it tomorrow? Thanks!
MINIS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mini Estate

proudpom 02-26-2008 01:16 AM

The switch is near your left knee when driving - it's by itself. The lights ONLY work when the headlights are on bright...

Count me in! I just got my MC40 for $15,900 with 21,400 miles and 10 Months left on the warranty. I absolutely love the look of the seats, wheels, and carbon fiber dash.

#785 Here.I ordered my #37's and an extra set of decals from the dealer in Fife (Seattle area). If i remember correctly the decals were around $100 and the 37's about $60 each. They do ask for you vin # to verify that you are an MC 40 owner.Good luck!

proudpom 02-27-2008 01:48 PM

Awesome! I'll give them a try... Thanks! I hate not having the magnets...

just keep trying different mini dealers. I had no luck when I lived in Cali with any of the LA area dealers locating them. It Did take about 4 weeks for them to locate a set and send them to me.

early_apex 02-27-2008 05:58 PM

BTW if someone is looking for one I found an MC40 at the Mazda dealer in Appleton, WI about a week ago. That was unexpected :) I have to wonder if they know what they've got.

proudpom 02-28-2008 01:13 AM

37 magnets found

I called the Seattle area dealer and they were able to order my missing side magnets. They're about $60 each and should be here in a week or so. They did ask for the VIN number to prove I own an MC40... Thanks for your help! I was just about to give up...

hardtail15 03-07-2008 07:57 AM

how can you tell if its an MC40?

MC 33-EJB 03-07-2008 09:54 AM

The #37 magnets on the door and the 2 decals on the bonet and the one on the rear 1/4 panel.

hardtail15 03-07-2008 10:33 AM

i mean is there any way to tell besides the decals

From this picture...MC40's were made without a sunroof which this car does not have. The athrecite R90 wheels are another sign that this is an MC40. What you can't see in the pucture are:The seats in a MC40 are unique in the way that they are red on the side bolsters and black in the center and were only made in this configuration for the MC40. There is also a special silver shift knob with the 40 year Monte Carlo logo on it that is unique to this car.The final element is the numbered and signed plaque stuck to the carpet just in front of the hand brake.Oh, I forgot the rubber floor mats with the 40 year logo on them. Hope this helps.

very cool, thank you

You also missed the JCW carbon fiber dash. Which appears to be high quality carbon fiber not that ruff crap you see around. It is smooth and really has a deep 3D look to it. They also got the grill mounted Aux rally lights. With the MC40 you also get the Aux gauge package which adds voltage and oil temp gauges under the switch panel in front of the cup holders. They are handy and very easy to see when driving. I find it nice to know oil temp, this way I know when it is safe to run hard or when the engine is running hotter than normal and the cooling system might be failing or ready to overheat. But as others have stated no Pano roof, multi function steering wheel, and cruise control. I also believe the did not come with the Harmon Kardon stereo option either.

I am absolutely impressed with how smooth my MC40 drives. 75mph feels more like 50mph.

Thats awesome, i really like those seats and the gauges. i just bought mine this past week and have been trying to figure out where to put oil and temp gauges. Very nice!
