R50/53 Pepper White Popularity
Pepper White Popularity
So I was wondering... just how popular is Pepper White with MINI owners? I know NAM has quite a few PW owners, but in general is that a popular color? My mom was interested in a VW Beetle in Harvest Moon Beige and the salesman told me that many people comment on the color and like it but few actually purchase it. Is that the case with the lovely Pepper White? Hmmm...

I don't klnow the stats but MINI has been a if it sells then it stays attitude with colors so it should be doing pretty well. But as long as your pleased with it I wouldn't worry, most MINI owner are a very accepting bunch regardless of what color you drive.
My favorite "real world" color for any vehicle is white.
I live down south where there are still plenty of dirt roads
Darker colors like black can look really cool when they are clean but drive once down a dirt road and it looks bad in a bad way.
White always seems to look the best even when its a little dusty.
Plus, the darker colors absorb heat.
Put your hand on the surface of a dark color car thats been in the sun for a while and compare it to a lighter color like white.
There is a huge difference.
I give you thumbs up on the white.

When I first got the Escape Pod, he was pretty much the only Pepper White in the area. No one had a Pepper White on runs or would never see any while driving around. Now I see them around quite a bit. They are getting too popular.
The other day I was dissed by another Pepper White owner
! I pulled up right beside her and was getting ready to wave and say hi. She put her arm up and set it against the window, blocking her face and proceeded to play with her hair and totaly ignored me
. I know she knew I was there because I was driving behind her originally, trying to wave. Oh well
,she probably thought, " here comes one of those irritating MINI owners trying to wave at me, AND she has the same color MINI as I do! I'll pretend I don't see her!"

Here's one more attaboy for white
If safety is a concern, White and Yellow are the most visible vehicle colors.
The color red is perceived as black
at night.

I almost ordered PW with the black roof. It was my first instinct, but then I remembered that 2 of the three last vehicles I've driven were white, so I wanted to do something different...ended up going BRG/W. It was a very hard decision. Around here the white seems to be very popular...I see quite a few of them around.

She deserves her MINI revoked!!
My choice of PW was very interesting.
1: Look at a PW on the lot, "Ewww, white".
2: Salesperson says, "That color will grow on you like a weed"
3: Wife and I can't decide on any of the other colors. I like grey, she likes green.
4: I discover that all the colors other than CR and PW cost $450, which I'd rather spend on other options.
5: I join NAM, and see all the other PW cars, including some lowered and modded ones. They look really good.
6: I realize that PW will be cooler in the summer.
7: I call the dealership and place my order for a PW with the black roof and mirrors.
Pretty disjointed journey, eh?

I ended up with a PW in a roundabout way, too.
I had always wanted a MINI and BRG was ALWAYS my first choice. When I finally decided that I was going to go for it, my son come's home from his grandparent's house and tells me his Aunt has just ordered a BRG MCSC, grrrr. Not like we hang out alot, but still.
I then decide on LY and find that it's discontinued on the S for '06, grrrr again.
Red is out, cuz my other car is red and I want a change.
I love HO and Cool Blue, but not cabrio for me.
Don't want black in the south and I'm over every shade of grey/silver. While I like all of those, just not practical for me.
I totally discount Purple because, while I think it would rock, I want my husband to like the car and don't think Purple would endear him to it.
At this point I've not even considered white. I decide to take a ride to the dealership and see some of the options in person.
My husband and I walk into Global and luckily they've just gotten a shipment in and most of them were being picked up the next day so there they were. We walked around and DH says, "that white is pretty sharp" and I say "yep" but keep walking. We look at every car, every interior, on and on. On the ride home, at the exact same time we both say "I really liked that white one" and the deal was done!
Of course, while at the Dragon he sees a few PH and asks me why we didn't get that one, seeing as how he's a Furman alum and all (Furman Purple Palladins!!!) grrrrrr go figure!
After all is said and done, we love the PW and can't imagine not having El Kabong. Just like kids, you love the one you get and all the other possibilities are just that.

When I first looked at MINIs I was set on DS because that's the color of my truck and I really like it. I also liked BRG but when I saw it in person was a bit disappointed because it wasn't like the old BRG I remember.
Upon seeing a PW it was love at first sight! I love that yummy creamy warm white! To me it's unusal, different and classy. Not at all like the run of the mill boring white car...blah.

A PW/B lived in my neighborhood a few years ago and every time I saw it I LOVED it. Then, when it came time to order mine, friends/family etc. said "white??? Why would you want white??" Well, I almost talked myself into Royal Grey. Then, when I was at the dealership getting ready to place my order, they had just unloaded some cars and a Royal Grey and a PW/B were sitting nose to nose. I looked at the two of them and my heart filled with warm fuzzies at the sight of the PW. I think it is classy, refined, and will look great forever. So I changed my order to PW/B on the spot and I am sooo very glad I did.
