A/C Doesn't Blow Cold?

My fiance's MINI (not S) is having issues with the A/C. I just wanted to know if this is typical or if I should take it in (I think I probably will). It's an 06 Cooper w/ almost 3k miles on it. Even on the very cold LO setting and A/C on, the air is pretty warm for a few minutes, then will get cold for a little while, then gets warm again! Is this normal? I feel like it can't be. At first I thought it was b/c the engine is so small, but I had a 97 Civic a while ago and it's A/C was cold from the beginning and stayed cold. If it took a while to get cold then stayed cold, that would be one thing, I just don't understand why it gets warm and all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Take it in. Most Minis are undercharged at the factory. Hopefully your dealer will add some refrigerant and not moan that it is within specs.

if its happening like that it is likely lack of refridgerant, but even when filled it is lacking....

if it is a hot summer day, try recirculation for about 10 minutes, then use normal mode for 5 minutes... you will find the recirculation mode cools the air better... but make sure you dont leave it on for too long (as in like a few hours)
