I've seen several recommendations for Simple Green and Zaino in this thread. I've heard (can't confirm) that the two don't mix. IOW, Simple Green removes Zaino.

I find Zaino does a great job of making the wheels easy to clean. (And I've switched to Mintex Red pads which helps even more.) I'd be worried that inn the long run, Simple Green would harm whatever finish is on the wheels.

Best use for wheels

IMHO, use P21s in either the regular or gel formulation. This stuff has been out for years and is what Porsche recommends for their wheels. It does NOT damage any finish on wheels. I've used it for over 20 years. The best method is to use it weekly for "normal" driving. Here in Atlanta, that means around 700 miles per week for me. Spray it on before you begin to wash your car and let it soak while you work on the rest of the body, saving the tires for last. If you do this, all you'll have to do is a light wipe with a sponge and hose it off, that's it.

If, on the other hand, you've let it go for too long, use the gel formula and let it sit as normal. Wash, rinse, repeat if necessary. The gel sticks to the wheel longer and has more time to do its thing.

I learned about this stuff long ago when we used to print the Porshe Panorama for the PCA. It was great fun to read about the concourse nuts and what extremes they went to detail their cars.

I've also been using the Zaino for the rest of the car and love the results. Unlike others, I just clean my wheels and don't put anything on them because my tires don't last long enough to worry about cracking and the extra goo that is applied to the tires to make them shine does nothing more than sling right onto the wheels messing them up and then we're back to square one with dirty wheels. For your consideration.

I've been using Zaino car wash with a stiff nylon brush. As I do this weekly thus far haven't had any stubborn stains or brake dust build up. Fingers crossed.
